Volunteer Kong Yuanyuan: Use my voice to light up your heart

On March 5, Kong Yuanyuan wrote an explanatory speech at the Chinese Cinema in Handan District, Handan City.

"A full ear of wheat appears in the camera..." In the corner of the movie theater, a voice came leisurely, describing the movie picture with a needle in the eye. Her name is Kong Yuanyuan, and she is the initiator of the "Angel's Eye" volunteer service team in Handan, Hebei Province, using her voice to explain the story of light and shadow for the visually impaired group.

Although it is only to convey sound, it is not easy to "talk" about the film. In order to accurately express in the process of explanation, Kong Yuanyuan is familiar with the scenes, lines, and music in the film, and a movie usually has to be watched about 20 times, make more than 30 pages of notes, carefully write the explanatory words of the whole movie, let the volunteers listen to it several times, and then explain it in public.

Before each screening of the film, Kong Yuanyuan first tells the storyline to the audience, introduces the main characters, and then plays the movie. The description of the part of the film with no dialogue, only pictures or music, allows the visually impaired to connect the plot through hearing.

The "Angel's Eye" volunteer service team dates back to 2006. At that time, a visually impaired person confided in Kong Yuanyuan: If I were given three days of light, my wish would be to be able to watch a movie. How can visually impaired people "watch" movies? Kong Yuanyuan and the volunteers made the decision to explain the film to them. In the past 15 years, the volunteer service team has screened more than 7,000 films of different types for tens of thousands of visually impaired people in Handan through the form of mobile cinemas, using their own voices to make the "eyes" of the visually impaired and add color to their lives.
