Giuseppe Tornatore's films, you may be more familiar with "Cinema Paradiso", "The Pianist of the Sea", "The Beautiful Legend of Sicily", three prestigious "hometown trilogies" in the world film world. The film "Journey to Heaven" is Tornatore's 1990 work, and its other translation is "Everything is Good".
The film is about an old father, after his wife's death for many years and his glorious retirement, he finally has to step out of the unchanged living environment and visit the children who have been separated for a long time.

As the journey progresses, the old father discovers that reality is not as perfect as he thought. All five children have achieved nothing, and they all have their own troubles and lies to their fathers. What made him even more sad was that one of his children had died not long ago, and he knew nothing about it.
The kind children try to comfort the frustrated Scullow with lies, and in the face of his wife's undead, Sculo tells the same white lies. Young and elderly, dead and alive, a real and delicate feeling flows slowly between relatives. Such a simple story, handled by Tornatore is deeply moving. The American version of Deroni's remake is not as strong as this part, and Zhang Meng's remake last year is even less powerful.
This poster is some surreal scene of my father on the beach towards the end of the movie. Like the scenes that often appear in Fellini's films, seemingly absurd comedies actually reveal the sadness of reality. From the eyes of an old man, the sadness is even worse.
