Did you have any special stories to share with us when filming Pacific Rim 2?

Huang Kaijie: In fact, it is also a dream of mine, science fiction films like this genre, I have not been exposed to it before, but I have watched it since I was a child. And this time "Pacific Rim" is an original story, and the director likes Japanese manga, so he created such a story.
Now that I have filmed the second episode, I liked to watch the first episode, but I didn't expect that in the second episode, they auditioned actors, and I was lucky to be selected. I didn't know what this character was talking about, but I knew that I had the opportunity to control the robots, the armor, and fight the monsters at the same time. So it's an honor to work with their team because they do every detail professionally and accurately. Everyone is very dedicated, and we are all very happy to do this.
Are there any difficulties that need to be cooperated and overcome when shooting?
Huang Kaijie: Many of our filming characters are troops in Pacific Rim 2 to defend the earth.
The first episode is about two people controlling a robot and having to connect your brain nerves because one person is too heavy. Then these two people must be in the same heart. The first episode is like two brothers, the brother is dead, the younger brother can no longer match.
Then this episode is about them training a group of troops who have grown up together since childhood, and if one person is injured, everyone can help, and there will not be so many restrictions. And we come from different countries, because many of them grew up in Los Angeles, we all have different shapes, the director at that time had requirements, some needed to lose weight, some needed to gain muscle. At the same time, I had a fitness instructor in Australia, and for me, the muscles needed to be a little bigger. Because there are so many pieces that need to be shown in the body, there is a lot of preparation to gain muscle, lose fat, and then dehydrate. Diet should be well controlled.
Are you a challenger?
Huang Kaijie: Yes, because then I feel more meaningful. If you want to push yourself to the limit, if you want to dig your emotions from the heart, or go to some deep places, then for a role you need to try, that is, there are a lot of inner and outer things in it.
What are your criteria for taking on the role, and what kind of roles are you going to challenge next?
Huang Kaijie: I don't have too many standards for taking over the role. Movies and TV series and web dramas can be contacted, as long as the script is good and the characters are good, then I have the passion to do it well. For what you want to shoot in the future, in fact, there are many. In fact, the police film also wants to shoot it.
You have participated in the reality show "Top Gun" before, which is actually a more special theme, why did you choose this show?
Huang Kaijie: Because it was the first reality show about flying a plane, when I was a child, the father of my classmates was a captain, and I heard a lot of stories about flying a plane, so this show had an opportunity for us to fly a plane, and I wanted to try it. It feels pretty cool. In fact, whether it is a reality show or a movie shooting, it is a good experience of a different life.
Do you think that being famous for your parents is a good thing for you, or do you mind if others say you are "Zhao Yazhi's son"?
Huang Kaijie: In fact, at the beginning, I would have been a little mindful, why everyone would pay attention to me from such an angle, but later many seniors or teachers would tell me that because it was the relationship between the industry, some new people may come out, and everyone will find a way to get to know him. Because they were my parents, it was only natural that people would know me through my parents at the beginning.
But it doesn't matter, when you have completed more of your own works or reality shows in the future, or let everyone know more about you through some interviews, everyone will really start to know this Huang Kaijie. You can recognize who you are.
Ever wanted to work with your mom to shoot a play?
Huang Kaijie: I have thought about it, but we are all actors, we will be more passive to choose a play, not what we ask for, this depends on the producer or director to find us to see whether the role is suitable, if it is appropriate, it is possible.
Are you because you need to practice this before filming, or have you always had this fitness habit before?
Huang Kaijie: It is a habit since childhood, because I have loved many sports since I was a child, such as football and basketball.
When I went to college, I continued to work out and swim. This can also strengthen the physical fitness, because the time is also very irregular during the filming process, if you are not physically good, it is easy to fall ill, will not be able to stay up, thus affecting the shooting, so the body is better, it will also help the work.
Have you been practicing any fitness exercises lately? Will there be special control over diet in between?
Huang Kaijie: At that time, the team invited a fitness instructor from Australia, asked him a lot of questions at that time, and usually communicated with friends in the gym. But everyone's physique is different. I've asked a guy before that he didn't pay much attention to his diet, eating everything and eating high-calorie foods, but he had eight-pack abs.
Dietitians also say that everyone's body structure is different, some people have a faster metabolism, some people are slower, and they need to eat some light food. Usually, I rarely eat some fried things, which may have something to do with my family. Since I was a child, I have eaten some relatively light things at home.
What I've been doing with a friend lately is called crossfit. That's a more comprehensive kind of training, there is strength, aerobic, softness also has this. Some movements are simple, but they have to be repeated many times, and it is a full-scale exercise for the body.
What are your fitness habits like now?
Huang Kaijie: Before I met the Australian coach, I usually went three times a week, usually with friends to play a dozen balls, swim, crossfit.
But he told me it was better to have six days, targeting different parts at the same time, doing aerobics in the morning and weight training in the afternoon. But if you want to gain muscle, you can skip the morning aerobic part and do more strength training. Now it's about seeing what the next project is, and then adjusting the training plan.
