<h1>The walnut wood beetle moth and the leopard wood beetle moth are the two main wood beetle moth pests that harm walnut branches and trunks on walnut trees in Dali. After years of observation by the author, it is possible to distinguish between two pests, the wood beetle moth and the leopard wood beetle moth, which can be distinguished from the symptoms of walnuts, and are introduced as follows:</h1>

When the larvae drill the branches into tunnels and bite the outside of the branches, they often spit out worm dung and bark chips to form a tunnel, and the larvae hide in the tunnel during the day and drill out at night, nibbling along the tunnel to eat the bark at the front of the tunnel, weakening the tree potential; when the damage is serious, it can cause the branches to dry out and the young trees to die (see Figure 1)
<h1>2. Walnut leopard striped wood beetle moth is harmful</h1>
The larvae moth into the young shoots of the branches, and feed on the branches between the phloem and the xylem, destroying the transport tissue, causing the branches above the borer hole to wilt, break in the wind, and after the young tree tops are damaged, the trunk is short, curved, and the lateral branches are overgrown (see Figures 2, 3, 4).
