Kenting is located in Pingtung County, Taiwan Province, bordering the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Taiwan Strait to the west, and the Bashi Strait to the south. The name of Kenting is said to be during the Qing Dynasty, a group of Zhuangding from the mainland to the southernmost part of Taiwan to the current reclamation, which was called "Kenting" by posterity.
Kenting has a tropical climate with an average annual average of 25 degrees Celsius. The geology is dominated by coral reefs, and under the terrain of the mountains surrounded by the sea on three sides, coupled with the wind blowing down the mountains for half a year, the special topography of Kenting has been created. The landscape here is diverse, with beach shells, cliffs, sand waterfalls, skirts, stalactite caves, rare plants in the tropical rainforest, a wide variety of insects and butterflies, and a migratory bird migration site for half a year.

Big Sharp Mountain
Officially known as "Big Stone Tip", it is one of the landmarks of Kenting, a whole rock protruding from the grassland, which is the highest point in the Kenting Peninsula. To ascend the mountain, you must enter through the archway of the Kenting National Forest Recreation Area, cross the Kenting Ranch, and there are hiking ropes along the ridge for climbing. The summit overlooks the whole territory of Hengchun Peninsula, with beautiful landscapes, and the whole journey up and down the mountain takes about 3-4 hours. However, paragraph 8 of Article 13 of the National Park Law prohibits climbing of large sharp mountains, frog stones and sail stones in the national park area.

Located on the west side of the national park, Hengchun's journey to Maobitou covers an area of 137 hectares, which was originally a low-lying terrain, and in previous years it accumulated water during the rainy season. Although the Japanese occupation era was planned to be built as a reservoir, but it was never realized, after the war, the Republic of China in the 37th year (1948) raised special funds to build Longluan Lake as a reservoir, an important water conservancy facility on the Hengchun Peninsula. The pond water flows north through the nearby stream, flows north through the artificial drainage outlet, flows into Baoli Creek through sigou and tougou, and goes out to sea from Sheliao for irrigation channels for farmland. In the autumn and winter, it becomes a place where migratory birds flock to spend the winter, and it is an excellent bird watching spot.
There is a nature center next to Longluan Lake, which can be viewed through the glass wall, and the observation station in the center provides multiple telescopes and 2 sets of broadcast monitoring systems, and there are 4 bird display areas, which is a well-equipped bird observation station. Longluantan Nature Center is also home to the artificial rearing area of rare plants, and the native tree species are artificially cultivated in the form of ecological gardens. The ecological park covers an area of about 1.5 hectares and is divided into nine areas, including rare plant area, bird attraction plant area, butterfly plant area, grassland shrub plant area, flower and fruit viewing plant area, mountain plant area, coastal forest plant area, coral reef plant area, and hedge plant area. The area is rich in biological resources and high degree of diversity of plant species, and is a natural habitat for ecological conservation and biological groups.

Cat Nose head is the dividing point between the Taiwan Strait and the Bashi Strait, and forms the southernmost two ends of Taiwan Island with Eluan Nose. The cat's nose has a coral reef rock that has fallen from the sea cliff, and its appearance resembles a crouching cat, hence the name. Cat nose head is a typical coral reef coast erosion terrain, coral reef due to orogeny out of the sea surface, subject to long-term wave erosion, repeated wet and dry, long-term salt crystallization, gravel drilling, and dissolution and other effects, resulting in cliffs, pot holes, reef pillars, interlayer caves and other peculiar landscapes, coastline bird's eye view like pleated skirts, so it is called skirt reef coast. White Sand Bay
Baisha Bay is located on the west coast of the Hengchun Peninsula and northwest of Maobitou. Also known as "white sand". The area around Baisha Bay belongs to the coral reef coast and was originally a small fishing port called Baisha Port. Blessed with a 100-metre stretch of sandy beach, the beach is made up of pure white shell sand, which is rarely visited by tourists, so it still maintains its natural appearance. When playing in the water here, you need to be careful that there are three strong undercurrents here, so you must pay special attention.

Nanren Lake
"Nanrenshan Ecological Reserve" is located in Nanren Village, Manzhou Township, on the east side of the national park, the highest altitude of the reserve is only 526 meters, but it is one of the few remaining low-altitude primitive tropical monsoon forests in Taiwan, and at the same time forms tropical, subtropical and temperate plants distributed in NanrenShan District, affected by the special monsoon and seasonal distribution of rainfall on the Hengchun Peninsula, with a total of more than 2,200 species of plants. For example, "big head tea" is as white as a camellia, and is a common plant on the windward steep slopes where the northeast monsoon prevails.
"Nanren Lake" is located in a natural valley, only one trail can be reached, 4.3 kilometers one way. Along the way, the ecological features are rich, and traces of "green spotted butterflies" and "yellow butterflies" can often be seen. Nanren Lake was originally a rice field, because the outlet on the east side of the paddy field was blocked, the amount of water accumulated day by day, forming a wide lake, in front of this vast body of water there is a small pool, is the real "Nanrengu Lake", but due to the small area of the lake is easy to be ignored. The "yellow ash crab" that can be seen next to the lake is a unique species of freshwater crab in Taiwan, which belongs to the land crab and is the only crab species that does not need to go to the sea for breeding.
Nanren Mountain is an ecological reserve that is only for academic research and is forbidden to tourists. Applications must be made to the Kenting National Park Administration in advance, and pre-departure education must be given at the Kenting National Park Visitor Centre to visit Nanren Lake, and applications are not accepted during the two-month closure period every year.
Longkeng Natural Ecological Reserve
Longkeng is located in the southeastern tip of the Hengchun Peninsula, at the junction of the Pacific Ocean and the Bashi Strait, the area is a stretch of group coral reefs, a high-rise coral reef with an area of 61.67 hectares. Due to the impact of gravity and waves, the coral limestone of the terrace cliff gradually breaks and collapses downwards, so the dragon pit integrates the excellent topographic landscape such as skirt reef, collapse cliff, narrow valley and sinkhole.
Longkeng has a special ecology and complex coastal plants, and there are many special and rare coastal plants. For example, "Hama spotted dove chrysanthemum", all of Taiwan except for Orchid Island can only be seen here in Longkeng; and the "grass sea tree" with only half of the petals, the thorny "flying dragon palm blood", and the "tan tree" floating from the Ocean from Tahiti are all coastal plants unique to Longkeng. Unfortunately, in 2001, due to the oil pollution incident of the Armas freighter, the entire coral reef was polluted by crude oil, although most of it was removed, but the entire Dragon Pit ecology was completely destroyed, and the wreckage of the freighter scattered on the seabed still made it impossible for the coral to recover smoothly.
Wind blowing sand
Wind-blown sand is wind-blown terrain. From September to April, the grains of sand are blown by the winter northeast monsoon and carried by the wind to the southwest, while the sand grains carried by the currents of the rivers and coasts are carried to the beaches in the northeast. In this way, wind erosion and wind accumulation are accumulated over time, and the sand in the valley is carried back and forth by wind and water, forming a special landscape of "sand dunes" and "sand waterfalls". But later, because the local government built a road and planted a large area of casuarina windbreak forest behind the road, this improper road barrier and windbreak design made kenting wind blowing sand a terrible sound.
Longpan Park
Longpan Park is located between Eluan Nose and Wind Blown Sand. This area is a rising limestone terrace, because the limestone is easily dissolved by water, so there are limestone caves, seepage holes, cliffs, laterite and other topographic landscapes in the area. The park has a savannah that overlooks the winding coast from the steep cliffs. This area is less harmful to light, so it is suitable for watching the sunrise and the starry sky at night.
Falling mountain wind
Falling mountain winds are a weather phenomenon peculiar to winter on the Hengchun Peninsula. From October to March of the following year, the winter air-conditioning mass travels south along the Central Mountain Range, and when it blows to the Hengchun Peninsula, because of the sudden increase in wind through the Shimen Narrow Valley, the Dawu Valley, and the ManzhouXiang Mountain Range Valley, coupled with the steep decline of the peninsula's terrain, the vast sea, and the strong wind form a straight blowing trend, which is called "falling mountain wind" by local residents. In the season of falling mountain winds, sand and dust cover the sky, and if there is a typhoon, it will often affect the driving of vehicles. In the early days, the windows of local houses were also mostly designed to be narrow and low, and residents would wear hats or square scarves to prevent wind and sand, forming a special local landscape.

Kenting Street
Kenting Street Kenting Street is located in Kenting Road Night Market, the most lively shopping street in the national park. It is also a rare business district and night market in the national park in the world, plus restaurants and hotels on the street, water locomotives by the beach, and nuclear power plants, causing light damage, pollution, and rising water temperatures, which are not helpful for the ecological maintenance of the national park. From the perspective of ecological conservation, the existence of Kenting Avenue is not conducive to the ecological conservation of national parks. At the beginning of the establishment of the national park, the merchants on Kenting Road only sold famous products in the size of the night market. In 1986, Halley's Comet approached the Earth, and the media reported Kenting as the best viewing place in Taiwan, and a large number of tourists were immediately crowded. Since then, the number of tourists has increased day by day, driving the prosperity of peripheral commerce.
Kenting Avenue ranges approximately between Kenting Grand Bay (Summer Beach Hotel) and Kenting Little Bay Beach. There are many bars, dance halls, food stalls, etc. open at night along the road, from day to night, the street is full of many swimmers dressed in beach pants, bikinis, a relaxed dress and domestic and foreign tourists, the neon lights on the street will make the streetscape very lively, quite the style of the Nanyang resort. In the evening, in addition to meals, there are also hot performances such as pole dancing. Pole dancers wearing three-point swimsuits to rub on guests have been named by the media as harmful and weathered, but they have not been banned. Kenting wind chime season

Spring shouts
