"Gourd baby, gourd baby, seven flowers on a vine..." Accompanied by a familiar melody, this well-known classic animation has come to Wuhan. From 1 July, CapitaLand Xicheng and Shanghai Fine Arts Film Studio (hereinafter referred to as Shanghai Fine Arts Film) jointly launched the "Hulu Brothers" Wuhan First Exhibition to officially meet with the general public. The exhibition continues the boom of CapitaLand Xicheng's fourth anniversary store celebration, bringing citizens and friends to relive the good memories of childhood, and enriching the summer entertainment and consumer life of Jiangcheng.
As CapitaLand's largest commercial complex in Central China, CapitaLand Xicheng has continued to deepen IP operations in the past four years since its opening, introducing Super Flying Man in 2017, introducing bear infestation, up meow, pig fart in 2019, and introducing well-known IPs such as tom cat in 2020.
"Hulu Brothers" is a paper-cut cartoon produced by Shangmei Film in 1986, as one of the original classic animations in China, it tells the story of 7 Hulu brothers with different skills and superior strength, who go forward to save their loved ones and go back to deal with the goblins. Since its broadcast, "Hulu Brothers" has been loved by the majority of audiences, especially children and teenagers, and has become a beautiful childhood memory of the majority of post-70s, post-80s, post-90s, and even post-00s. In recent years, the high-frequency interpretation and imitation of the various characters of the "Hulu Brothers" by major entertainment variety shows have made this classic animation more topical and glow with new charm.
This time, the "Hulu Brothers" IP exhibition created by CapitaLand Xicheng includes the Hulu Brothers theme space, the interactive experience punch card area, and the pop-up shops around Shanghai Meiying. At the main entrance of the mall, with the gourd vine born of the gourd baby as the background, all the animated characters such as the seven brothers of the gourd baby, grandfather, pangolin, snake spirit, scorpion spirit and so on are gathered to attract passing citizens to punch in and take photos.
"What medicine is sold in the gourd" As a pop-up shop of Shangmeiying, there are not only the surroundings of the "Hulu Brothers", but also all the classic animations produced by Shangmeiying, including "Nezha Noisy Sea", "Big Trouble in the Sky", "Shuk Beta", "Black Cat Sheriff", "Tianshu Qitan", "The Adventures of the Dirty King", "Big Ear Tutu" and other well-known IP peripheral products, allowing you to travel back to the animation world of the 80s of the last century. In the interactive experience punch card area, there are many interactive scenes such as "Stone Breaking The Sky", "Ingenious Ruyi AR Interactive Game Area", "Tribute to the Century Blessing Wall of Chinese Art Animation", "Backwater War" Paper Sculpture Scroll and so on. It is understood that the exhibition will last until August 31, and the general public can enter the experience for free.
