The Chinese Nationalist Party is still saved! An important programmatic document has just been adopted to raise the banner of anti-separatism

Against the backdrop of deepening collusion between the United States and Taiwan and the extremely rampant separatist forces on the island, the Chinese Kuomintang changed its previous attitude of "competing for favors" with the DPP and took a clear-cut stand against separatism.

According to the Global Times news on October 31, the Chinese Kuomintang held a video conference on the 30th of the 21st 1st National Congress, and the policy program of the Chinese Kuomintang adopted at the meeting mentioned that the party will continue the foundation of the past party constitution and party program, persist in opposing separatism, and actively promote the improvement of cross-strait relations. What is even more valuable is that the "no reunification, no independence, and no armed forces" proposed by Ma Ying-jeou when he was in power was also deleted from the new political program.

At this sensitive moment, the Chinese Kuomintang adopted such a new political program that clearly opposes separatism, which is nothing more than an important opportunity for the Kuomintang to be reborn. A few years ago, under the guidance of erroneous thinking, the KMT not only lost its ruling position, but in order to regain power, it even moved the idea of competing with the DPP for the middle of the voters and who is more "pro-AMERICAN" than the DPP. As a result, the middle voters did not win, their "basic disk" could not be completely preserved, and they also fell into the name of "little green", which can be described as losing the wife and folding the army.

Although the Chinese Kuomintang, which has lost its political discourse power, is still the largest opposition party on the island, it is unscrupulous and incompetent against the DPP politicians, and not only has it not formed a restraint and balance on the ruling DPP, but has even sometimes echoed the DPP's unpopular approach; in the face of the DPP's political pursuit, the KMT has no room for resistance and has to accept it in its entirety; at this time, there are many factions within the KMT, and the trend of "infighting" that has lasted for a hundred years has not been improved; "party property" has been used by the DPP. The name "Justice" was all confiscated and liquidated, resulting in a serious shortage of funds for the KMT, and at the worst time, the KMT had to borrow money from Gou to pay wages. Lacking the support of faith and belief, without the guarantee of political power, and without the guarantee of money, a century-old party has a vague tendency to become a "small green".

Since 2016, the Chinese Kuomintang has reached its darkest moment since its founding. When Chiang Kai-shek defeated and retreated to Taiwan, he at least firmly held the political power in his hands. Now that the KMT has not only lost its ruling position in Taiwan, but its partisan influence has also been greatly weakened, the KMT is facing the problem of life and death. In the election of the KMT chairman, Zhang Yazhong, a candidate who advocated national identity, non-splitting sovereignty, and jointly safeguarding China's sovereignty and territorial integrity on both sides of the strait, won far more votes than Jiang Qichen, former chairman of the KUOMINTT, who highly advocated pro-USism, and even for a while led Zhu Lilun, who had pro-US tendencies.

This shows that at the critical juncture of life and death, many Kuomintang members have begun to wake up and realize that it is completely impossible to take the "pro-AMERICAN" line, that Taiwan's future is on the mainland, and that the future of the KmT is also on the mainland. Zhu Lilun was able to be elected as the new chairman of the Kuomintang not only because he had been chairman of the Kuomintang and had a certain relationship of contacts, but more importantly, he also advocated adhering to the "1992 Consensus" of representing the one-China principle and resolutely opposing separatism, which was recognized by the Kuomintang people.

The fact that the KMT has written "anti-splittism" into the new political program this time can be seen as a continuation of the ideological understanding revealed in the election of the KMT chairman. Raising the great banner of "opposing separatism" will reunite the kuomintang, which is fragmented and ideologically scattered, will help the KMT survive and stand in an invincible position in the fierce partisan struggle, will help safeguard national unity and sovereign integrity, and will be even more conducive to the future of Taiwan Island.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Kuomintang, which died and survived infighting at every turn for a little political self-interest, can overcome the shortcomings accumulated over the past century and truly serve the interests of the Chinese nation as a whole.
