Kill 14 people and rape 9 people! The results of the prototype investigation of Memories of Killings were announced

According to China News Network, south Korean police announced the results of the Hwaseong serial murder case, the prototype of the movie "Memories of Killing", today (July 2), and found that Lee Chun-jae committed 23 crimes, killed 14 women, and raped and robbed 9 women.

The South Korean police have since concluded a re-investigation into The South Korea's largest long-outstanding case, the Lee Chun-jae serial killings in the Hwaseong area of Gyeonggi Province. This is 34 years after the first case of the serial killing.

Police said Mr. Lee had committed 23 cases, but it was difficult to impose penalties that had expired. The Lee Chun-jae serial murders, which took place between 1986 and 1991, involved 10 cases and were adapted into the film Memories of Killings.

The Hwaseong Serial Killings, the 10 cases that occurred between September 1986 and April 1991, were the worst of south Korea's deadliest homicides, with victims ranging from teenage to 70s. The case was adapted into the film Memories of a Killing.

On September 19, 1986, a 71-year-old man who had been strangled and whose pants had slipped off was found in the city of Hoa, Gyeonggi Province, and the serial killings began. Connecting these 10 cases, there are no fixed characteristics, and most of the women who were killed were raped and subsequently killed.

The eighth case, unlike several others, was found to be an imitation crime. South Korean police cracked and arrested Yoon in 1989. Yin was released in 2009 after serving a 20-year sentence.

However, in fact, these 10 cases were all committed by Li Chunzai.

In January 1994, Li Chunzai was sentenced to life imprisonment for raping and killing his wife and sister, and in August 2019, the police found that his DNA was consistent with the DNA of the evidence in three Hwaseong murder cases, so they locked him as a suspect in the case and interrogated him more than 10 times in prison.

On the other hand, Yin Mou, who was arrested that year, said that he made a false statement under the compulsory investigation of the police and asked for the case to be retried.

On July 2, Bae Yong-joo, director of the Southern Gyeonggi-do Local Police Department in South Korea, apologized to the victims of the lee chun-jae case for the unreasonable police investigation.
