2019 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Korean cinema, and Sports East Asia conducted a questionnaire survey of 100 film industry insiders in South Korea on the occasion of its 11th anniversary. "Memories of Killing" was eventually named Best Movie, and Lim Kwon-taek, Song Kang-ho and Jeon Do-yeon topped Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.

The questionnaire survey was conducted by a total of 100 people, all of whom were Korean film directors, producers, publicity and promotion, film critics and other film insiders. The questionnaire consists of four questions, namely "100 Years of Korean Cinema, Best Work?" (two films per candidate), Best Director? Best Actor? Best Actress? (One person per person for the last three questions)", the survey period was from December 20, 2018 to February 8, 2019.

Based on the true serial murders of the 1980s, Memories of Killings topped the film for its profound social significance and high degree of completion as a commercial film. Released in 1961, Yu Hyun-moo's work "Mistaken Bullet" tied for second place with Park Chan-wook's violent aesthetic classic "Old Boy".

In the investigation of the best director, the Korean master director Lim Kwon Taek, who has directed "The General's Son", "A Song of Sorrow", "Drunken Painting Fairy", "Seed Girl", and has directed a total of 102 works so far, was named the best director with the most votes of 26 votes. Best Film "Memories of Killing" director Bong Joon-ho ranked second, and "Next Girl" directors Kim Ki-young and Park Chan-wook tied for third.

In the votes for Best Actor and Actress, nearly half of the 100 people voted for Song Kang-ho (49 votes) and Jeon Do-yeon (44 votes).

In second place in the male actor vote, Shin Sung-il, who died last November, according to the Korea Video Archives, Shin Sung-il starred in a total of 524 works in his lifetime. "National actor" Ahn Seung-ki ranked third, followed by South Korean actors Lee Byung-hyun, Choi Min-sik, Han Seok-gyu, Xue Jingqiu and Huang Zhengmin, who are well known to Chinese audiences, all in the top ten.

In terms of actresses, Quan DuYan pressed a number of Korean senior actors to reach the top. The actresses behind her are Choi Yin-hee, Kim Ji-mi, Kang Woo-yeon and so on.
