Sunflower ( alias : Sunflower ) is a large, 3-meter-tall annual asteraceae , of the genus Sunflower. Its disc-shaped inflorescence can be up to 30 cm wide. The inflorescence is named after the sun. Sunflower seeds are called sunflower seeds, commonly known as melon seeds. It can be used as a snack, or it can be pressed for oil and oil residue as feed. Sunflowers are the national flowers of Peru, Bolivia and Russia. Sunflower is an annual herb growing 1 to 3 m tall. The stem is erect, stout, rounded and angular, covered with white coarse stiff hairs. Commonly known as sunflower seeds. Sexually warm and drought tolerant. Native to North America, it is cultivated all over the world. Native to North America, sunflowers are warm and drought-tolerant, and were brought back to Europe by Spanish colonists in 1510, and were introduced to China by missionaries during the Wanli Dynasty, and are now cultivated all over the world. Its flower language has the meaning of love and loyalty, symbolizing silent but fierce love. Sunflower is an annual herb growing 1 to 3 m tall. Because the sunflower's flower tray auxin backlight distribution, the stem on the backlit side grows faster, and the stem will bend toward the light source.

Sunflowers are named because the young discs at the top and middle of their early growth plants rotate very obviously with the sun. It is believed that sunflower sunrise is only related to light energy illumination, but it is also closely related to gravity. 

Plants produce a wonderful auxin, mostly concentrated in areas where growth is vigorous, and less in aging tissues and organs. This phytotenin has three characteristics: first, it can promote (inhibit) the growth of cells and accelerate (slow down) the division and reproduction of cells; second, backlight, when encountering light energy irradiation, it runs to the backlight side; third, to the ground, under the action of gravity, from the upper end of the plant to the lower end, from the back side to the ground side of the transport, can not be reversed transport. 

The growth period of sunflowers refers to the number of days experienced from seedling emergence to seed maturity, generally 85 to 120 days or more. The length of the growth period varies depending on the variety, sowing period and cultivation conditions. The whole growth period of sunflowers is divided into four growth periods: seedling stage, bud stage, flowering stage and mature stage.

1. Seedling stage, from emergence to bud, is called seedling stage. It generally takes 35-50 days, and summer sowing takes 28-35 days. This period is the stage of leaf, flower primordial formation and floret differentiation. At this stage, the aboveground part of the growth is slow, the underground root system grows faster, and soon forms a strong root system, which is the stage with the strongest drought resistance of sunflowers.

2. In the budding stage, a stellate with a diameter of 1 cm appears on the top of the sunflower, commonly known as the bud. From bud to flowering, it generally takes about 20 days, which is a period of vegetative growth and reproductive growth, and it is also the most vigorous stage of life. During this period, sunflowers need the most fertilizer and water, accounting for about 40%-50% of the total fertilizer required. If the demand for water and fertilizer cannot be met in time during this period, it will seriously affect the yield.

3. During the flowering period, 75% of the plants in the field have tongue-shaped flowers open, that is, they enter the flowering period. It usually takes 6-9 days for a disc to open from the tongue-shaped flowers to the time the tubular flowers are opened. From the second to the fifth day is the peak flowering period of the inflorescence. The number of flowers in these 4 days accounts for about 75% of the number of flowers. Flowers bloom at 4-6 o'clock in the morning and pollinate and fertilize the next morning. Unfertilized branches can remain unererated for 7-10 days. Sunflower self-pollination fruiting rate is very low, only about 3%, and cross-pollination fruiting rate is high. However, if the temperature is high, the rain is heavy, the humidity is large, the light is insufficient, the soil is dry, etc., the fruiting rate will be greatly reduced; therefore, adjusting the sowing period, timely fertilization, watering, controlling pests and diseases, and taking measures such as bee release or artificial auxiliary pollination can improve the fruiting rate.

4. The ripening period is from flowering to maturity, with 25-55 days of spring sowing and 25-40 days of summer sowing. Different varieties vary. Flowering pollination shield for about 15 days is the stage of seed formation. The specific period requires sunny weather, large diurnal temperature difference and suitable soil moisture.
