Physician benevolence: Each patient talks for at least 15 minutes

"Hello, please sit" is the opening statement of Liang Zong'an and each outpatient. In order to fully communicate with each patient in a relatively relaxed environment, carefully understand the patient's condition and treatment vision, he teaches students: "Each patient talks for at least 15 minutes, less than this time, you can not tell the patient about his problem."

Chronic respiratory diseases account for a large proportion of respiratory diseases and require the cooperation of doctors and patients to really help patients treat. Liang Zong'an always explains the condition to patients in plain language and teaches patients self-management. Patients often say, "I understand when I hear you say this, and I listen to you."

Every year, Liang Zong'an should complete about 2500 outpatient cases of respiratory medicine, organize and participate in the general practice rounds (diagnosis and treatment of difficult and serious disease cases) once a week, and participate in the consultation and guidance of difficult and major diseases in Sichuan Province and surrounding areas, about 90 times a year. As long as it is the patient's business, he always remembers it clearly, as long as it is the patient's problem, he always tries to solve it. He has countless times he has given up his vacation for patients lying on his bed and traveled late at night for out-of-hospital consultation.

As early as the 1990s, with the support of hospitals and departments, Liang Zongan took the lead in organizing the establishment of respiratory icu, carrying out and using respiratory therapy and airway management techniques, and improving the technical level of treating patients with respiratory failure. Huaxi Hospital is one of the first hospitals in China to carry out specialized ICU, so that Huaxi Hospital has always been at the leading level in China in this field.

Fighting on the front line He is the backbone of epidemic prevention and control

As a doctor, especially a respiratory doctor, you are the first line of defense for many infectious diseases. When the danger came, as the top respiratory expert in Sichuan Province, Liang Zong'an yi threw himself into the needs of society without hesitation, and successively served as the deputy leader of the clinical treatment expert group of infectious atypical pneumonia, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, and h1n1 influenza in Sichuan Province, saving the people from water and fire in a "war without gun smoke".

As the executive deputy leader of the Sichuan Provincial Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Treatment Expert Group, Liang Zong'an participated in the construction of the province's medical treatment model, that is, "three separations" to strictly isolate patients and cut off the source of infection; strengthen the "four concentrations" and take multiple measures to strengthen medical treatment capabilities; and use 5G technology to improve the level of treatment of critically ill patients in Sichuan Province. Every afternoon, he participated in the remote consultation of critically ill patients in the province and gave guidance on treatment plans. During the fight against the epidemic, he also traveled to Suining, Guang'an and other places to guide the treatment of critically ill patients on many occasions.

On January 29, 2020, just like leading a team to the Sixth People's Hospital of Sichuan Province to fight SARS 17 years ago, Liang Zongan, as the leader of the expert group, led the expert group of West China Hospital to the Chengdu Public Health Center to guide the treatment of confirmed patients in the hospital. On February 16, in accordance with the requirements of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Liang Zongan, as the leader, led 69 medical staff of West China Hospital to take over the intensive care ward of Chengdu Public Health Center and directly guide the treatment of critically ill patients in Chengdu.

West China Hospital is the designated hospital for the treatment of new crown pneumonia cases in Sichuan Province. As the director of the respiratory and critical care department of the hospital, he has to actively adjust the manpower of the department while contacting the serious and critically ill patients every day, organize the medical staff of the department to send out support for the frontline of the fight against the epidemic in Wuhan and Chengdu Public Health Center, strictly deploy prevention and control arrangements, and participate in the formulation of various prevention and control systems and processes of the whole hospital to ensure the normal operation of the hospital's comprehensive prevention and control work and medical work.

As the epidemic situation in Sichuan improved, Liang Zongan ended his domestic rescue and treatment mission, and he received a notice to support Italy. On March 11, 2020, Liang Zong'an joined the Red Cross Society of China's volunteer expert team to go to Italy to support his medical counterparts in the fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

At 8 o'clock on March 13, less than 10 hours after arriving in Rome, the Chinese expert team "started" non-stop - talking with the Italian Red Cross and medical experts to understand the current epidemic situation in Italy; attended a press conference with Chinese Ambassador to Italy Li Junhua and Italian Foreign Minister Di Maio at the headquarters of the Red Cross in the Lazio Region of Rome and answered questions from Italian reporters; and went to the Italian Red Cross Emergency Center.

On March 14, the expert group exchanged views with local counterparts on epidemic prevention and control and diagnosis and treatment at the University Hospital of Rome and the Sparlanzani Hospital, introduced the Seventh Edition of China's COVID-19 Diagnosis and Treatment Plan, and visited Chinese compatriots who were hospitalized. On March 16, Liang Zong'an and other experts went north to Milan, Padua and other areas with serious epidemics to conduct field visits to front-line hospitals.
