72 years ago, the bridge behind me was called the "Ash Bridge". At 00:05 on December 5, 1949, the soldiers of the 82nd Regiment of the Third Corps of the Second Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army entered Zigong from this bridge, and on this day, Zigong ushered in liberation. Since then, the bridge has been renamed "Liberation Bridge", and the thousand-year-old salt has opened a new chapter in history.
In 1957, in the first five-year plan of New China, Zigong, a traditional salt city, for the first time had an industrial vacuum salt making workshop, which is the old salt field cultural and creative park where I am now located. At that time, under the call of "stepping over thousands of miles of horses and running to the chemical city", the boom of the whole private chemical industry kicked off in full swing, and in just 3 years, many enterprises such as Honghe Factory, Zhangjiaba Salt Chemical Factory, Zigong Carbon Black Factory and so on rose from the ground, and the sons and daughters of Yandu embarked on a new journey of modern industrialization.
On New Year's Day in 1964, on the basis of traditional customs, the Zigong Municipal Party Committee decided to hold a lantern party, which was the first official lantern festival organized by the founding of the People's Republic of China in Zigong. With this as the beginning, the Lantern Festival has gradually become a new city card of Zigong. In 2020, with the use of Zigong Chinese Lantern World, the Zigong lantern industry opened a new era of "Zigong lanterns, shine the world".
The time came again in March 1972, when the Seventh Census Brigade of the State Geological Administration found dinosaur tail vertebrae fossils in Dashanpu. In the years since, hundreds of dinosaurs and other vertebrate fossil skeletons have sprung up, and Zigong has added a mark "Dragon Town" that makes Zigong people proud after being known as the "Salt Capital" and "City of Lights".
In the 1980s, Shawan became the most prosperous central area of the city, with the Workers' Cultural Palace, library, People's Park, as well as department stores, cinemas, Xinjie Night Market, etc., full of people and bustling. At this time, the bustling mirror image of "half a city green mountain and half a city tower, colored lights reflecting the blue water flow" and a large number of construction sites across a mountain are interesting, and a resounding name - Huidong New District has written a strong and colorful stroke in the process of urbanization of Zigong.
Bathed in the dawn of the new century, Zigong Aviation Industrial Park was completed, as an important bearing place for the "1+3" development pattern of the aviation and gas turbine industry in our province, in the construction of the twin-city economic circle in Chengdu-Chongqing area, Zigong Aviation Industrial Park shoulders the strategic mission of building a new highland for the integration of industry and city.
The completion of the Zigong Aviation Industrial Park also marks the acceleration of the transformation and development of the old industrial city of Zigong. We have once again embarked on a new journey of "rebuilding the industry to pay tribute and recasting the glory of salt".
Today, on the land of 4328 square kilometers of Yandu, the pride of spring and autumn and the joy of passing on the spark are wafting.
