Recently, when the researchers of Longqi Mountain Conservation Area carried out daily monitoring work, on the branches of the roadside at an altitude of about 1000 meters, they photographed a relatively large butterfly of the genus Butterfly, and after consulting data and consulting experts, it was determined that it was a large wave of butterfly in the Lepidoptera ophthalmidae, which is a new record species distributed in the Longqi Mountain Reserve, and the number of butterflies has reached 316 species so far.
The large-wave butterfly is widely distributed but small in number, and its forewings have no small eye spots in the cu1 chamber except for the large eye spots at the sub-end. There are 4 eye spots on the reverse side of the hindwing, the first eye spot is as large as the second. Some individuals have a particularly large first eye spot on the opposite side of the hindwing. Mainly distributed in Chongqing, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Taiwan and other places.
