In February 1951, Yang Dezhi was appointed commander of the 19th Corps of the Volunteer Army, leading the corps into Korea by train, and while the train was moving, someone said, "Why do I think we are retreating?" At that time, Yang Dezhi was buried in the map, at first he did not care, but a few people also said so, Yang Dezhi walked to the window, and sure enough, the scenery outside the window was moving forward, the train was indeed retreating, and the train was retreating faster and faster, and after a while, even people could not stand steadily, at this time someone shouted: The locomotive is gone. Yang Dezhi shouted: Pull the brake brake quickly. Several crew members hurriedly tightened the brake brakes, but because the mountain was too steep, the train still retreated rapidly down the mountain, and some people were anxious to let everyone jump the train, but Yang Dezhi hurriedly stopped: No, the train is too fast, and it is not dead or disabled to jump down. What is even more dangerous at this time is that another train is coming in the distance, and if the train of the headquarters continues to retreat, it will collide with this train and destroy the car. Just at the moment of this thousand guns, a small black shadow flashed, quickly rushed to the side of the railway track, it turned out to be a thin and small North Korean child, he calmly and skillfully moved the turnout, the train of the headquarters drove along the trend to another track, avoiding the tragedy of the collision of the two cars, the train finally slowly stopped, everyone was terrified, and Yang Dezhi got off the train, he was going to find the savior, the little boy was only eleven or twelve years old, the thin body revealed his wit and courage, and a North Korean next to him knew Chinese. It is said that the child's brother was originally a railway worker here, and because of the shortage of soldiers, he went to the front line, and he took his brother's class here to be responsible for railway safety and security work. What he would not have imagined was that his actions had saved all the officers of the Nineteenth Corps and several founding generals. Yang Dezhi saw his thin body and quickly took a bag of cans from the car and gave it to him.

Yang Dezhi later said in his memoirs: As soon as he took this child into his arms, tears flowed out, and he said to the Korean people on the side: "You are the first Korean masses we met when we entered the DPRK, and you actually saved all our corps headquarters, and the great favor of the Korean people will certainly be repaid twice." ”

After this distress, the PLA headquarters issued an order: Senior commanders of the Volunteer Army were not allowed to take a train en masse to avoid causing safety accidents.
