(xxvii) To explore the swamp

This is an endless grassland, and in the distance, the undulating hills are growing in the woods, like beautiful bonsai placed there.

Not only is the scenery beautiful, but the air is refreshing and pleasant. As we walked inside, the ground gradually became wet, and we would see some small puddles on the grass at any time, and the more we went in, the larger the puddles became, and some of them resembled a small lake. We changed the path under our feet and walked forward, and the small lakes were connected into pieces, and we knew that there was a swamp in front of us.

After walking a little further, we stopped for a short rest to see if we could move on. At this time we saw that on this swamp, in addition to a clump of regular shrubs, there was also a plant that we had never seen before, they looked like kale plants, blue-green leaves, the veins were lilac, oval, wide and fat, the leaves inside were small, the outer layers of the leaves were larger, and the layers stretched outwards and flattened on the swamp, and their diameter was more than two meters. Immediately after the weekend, it is called "big cabbage". Babe jumped up tentatively, then jumped from one tree to another, wagging her tail happily. The weekend was also infected by Babe's actions, Nai couldn't help curiosity, but also tried to jump on one, stand on it and do various actions, I didn't think that the plant had such a big endurance, which made the weekend exciting. Near noon, the sun shines obliquely on the swamp, the water in the lake gently steams, and the clouds in the air suddenly cover the sunlight, and suddenly drift past, and the ground suddenly bright and dark as if it becomes confusing under the illumination of the chasing lamp. We looked ahead and couldn't imagine that there was a small town not far ahead, with small tall buildings looming and faint green smoke on the roof. Let's think right away that there are people living there, and at the moment they are making lunch. Seeing this, our hearts suddenly relaxed. Visually measuring the distance, the slowest we can get there before dark. Out of curiosity, S and I also tried to jump on a beautiful cabbage tree. We each stood in the center of the flower tray, with water below, standing on top of it as if we were standing on a flat boat. Babe jumped around, making her legs and stomach full of water, shouting and laughing on weekends, so unhappy.

Unconsciously, the sun had tilted to the west, and we stepped on the big cabbage next to each other, walking slowly towards the town. Seeing that it was getting closer and closer to the town, the sun had hidden half of his face, and he couldn't imagine that the big leaves were rapidly converging upwards, and the weekend was so frightened that he shouted at Babe, and Babe quickly jumped to his side. In less than two minutes, the big leaf had wrapped us up, the sun had set, and the leaf was tightly wrapped without gaps, and we were wrapped up as if we were wrapped in a cabbage. Fortunately, S used the fruit knife he carried with him to cut it desperately, make a hole, and then shouted at us to do it his way, so that we could breathe a sigh of relief, otherwise we would have to hold us inside. Through the hole we dug, we found that it was pitch black all around us, and it would be more dangerous to jump out, so we decided to simply wait for the sun to come out tomorrow and wait and see what happened. And so we had an unusual night in one of the most unusual rooms we've ever had.

The next day, a little after seven o'clock in the morning, the leaves slowly opened and lay flat on the ground in a moment, a plant that blooms day and night to fully absorb the sun. Now we sat on it with confidence and rested a little, and we were ready to go straight to the town in front of us, which was more than eight o'clock in the morning.

We stepped on the big cabbage for a while, looked up, who knows, yesterday's close town has disappeared, there is only a vast green in front of us and a swamp hidden under the green, and then look far away, but the heavens and the earth meet like a dome, which surprises us. An intuition makes us decide immediately: find the way back. It was noon again, the swamp under the sun showed the scene of yesterday, we looked back, the town appeared as scheduled, and the distance seemed to be closer, faintly, saw a row of small buildings with pointed roofs, and the roof was still emitting cooking smoke...

postscript

Our trip is over, and our harvest is: truly appreciate the vastness and magic of this earth that has given us life and everything.

What we have seen and heard is less than a dime, and there are still many new and strange places for us to explore and discover. Where we walked, we drew line maps according to the terrain, landforms, longitude and latitude we saw, and wanted to tell others that they had a chance to verify it. But then we felt that it was better to let our nature preserve its own original mystery and authenticity, so we destroyed the diagram.

In addition, we also brought back some novelty little things, such as the wonderful little stone that we brought back on the weekend, which was kept in the glass jar of our little museum. The few cores of the "heavenly peach" that made the little weekend open suddenly, and the wisdom of the steep "heavenly peach", we have planted on the grass in front of the museum, and now they have grown into trees, but all the forms have changed, and they have not yet flowered, let alone bear any fruit.

I was working on his master's degree on the weekends, and I was busy writing my thesis, and I was the only one who took Babe every day to the garden, walk the beach, and soak up the idle sun and reminisce about the beautiful fragments that had been experienced.
