In the beautiful and soft tune of Suzhou's playing lyrics "Butterfly Love Flower Answer Li Shuyi", the 6th "Weishi Cup" Yangtze River Delta Youth Qu Art Competition of the 2021 Shanghai Citizens' Cultural Festival kicked off at the "Show Stage" of the Jiading District Cultural Center, and the children paid tribute to the centennial party with sincere children's voices.
Shanghai is the birthplace of southern quyi, and has always attached great importance to the development of youth quyi. Since 2011, the "Weishi Cup" Youth Quyi Competition has been successfully held for five sessions, with the intention of cultivating new seedlings of quyi, discovering new talents in quyi, enhancing the aesthetic taste of traditional chinese culture, and promoting the inheritance and protection of China's excellent traditional quyi culture.
Every edition has been well received. Since the launch of this year's competition in March, all districts in Shanghai have responded positively, schools have actively participated, and the 174 participating rematch programs from all over the city have the characteristics of the times, reflecting the characteristics of teenagers and highlighting artistic taste. The competition is divided into three groups: kindergarten group, primary and secondary school group and youth group, and after fierce competition in the preliminary, semi-final and final, 50 "Quyi Stars", 50 "Quyi New Seedlings" and 30 "Little Peony Awards" were finally born.
Qian Cheng, a judge of the competition and vice chairman of the Shanghai Municipal Ququ Association, believes that compared with the past, the overall scale of the youth song art competition, the level of the participants, the type of music art, and the stage effect have been greatly improved, "their understanding and presentation of the music art is better than before." The competition further expands the coverage of the participants, and the age of the players is extended to under 25 years old, so that all ages of teenagers can be covered. In addition, the types of music participating in the competition are also more diverse and rich, in addition to Shanghai rap, story, burlesque, one-legged play, cross-talk, allegro, pingtan, gong and drum book, etc., but also added Shanghai tongue twister, Shanghai book, digital treasure, Yangzhou commentary and other forms of music and art with regional characteristics, fully demonstrated the vitality and style of youth song art, and promoted the exchange, sharing and integration of regional excellent music resources.
According to Tian Tian, director of the Jiading District Cultural Center, in order to let the traditional music art have a channel for continuous inheritance, on the day of the final, the organizer recorded the entries of all the contestants, the ardent hope of each judge for the inheritance of the music art, behind-the-scenes footage and other video materials, which will become one of the contents of the database construction. After the results of the competition were announced, the Shanghai Public Digital Culture Resource Service Library "Yousheng Vision" and the WeChat of the Jiading District Cultural Center also pushed 30 works that won the "Little Peony Award" for children to learn and enjoy online.
From all the award-winning programs, more than ten highly representative works were carefully selected for reporting and performance. The gong and drum book "Good Boy in the New Era" uses traditional artistic methods to express the self-improvement and self-confidence of the Young Pioneers; the Allegro book "I am Chinese" expresses a deep sense of national pride; the Pudong storytelling book "Rural Life is Happy and Leisurely" presents the beautiful mood of country lanes and idyllic scenery... Rap performance artist Gu Zhujun and pingtan performance artist Zhou Hong also came to the scene, in addition to telling the cultivation process of the children, they also gave affirmation and encouragement to the performances of the young contestants.
One minute on stage, ten years offstage. Although many of the contestants are still young, behind the excellent results, they are inseparable from their love for traditional music and hard training day after day.
4-year-old Lu Muzhi's child is the youngest contestant in this competition, and he attended a kindergarten class in Jinshan District, and as soon as he took the stage, he attracted the attention of the judges and the audience. Before going on the stage, Lu Muzhi was still playing with other children, and as soon as he took the stage, he immediately became a "little artist" with rich stage experience, and the story he brought with him, "The Little Girl Who Sold Matches", was very colorful and very infectious. Lu Muzhi's mother said that since she was a child, she likes to perform, loves to tell stories, and is very involved every time. This year's Quyi Competition is the first time Lu Muzhi has appeared on the municipal stage, and with his cute and outstanding performance, he finally won the honor of "Little Peony Award" and "Quyi Star".
This year's Quyi Competition also gathered a group of "elders" who have been in the battlefield for a long time. Hou Rui, a member of the youth group of the competition, has enthusiastically registered since the third youth song art competition, and this year is already the third time to participate in the competition. The repeated experiences on the stage and the love and dedication to the art of music have prompted her to continue to make progress, and her typhoon is steady, the rhythm is appropriate, the interpretation is brilliant, and she has repeatedly won the praise of the judges. This year, Hou Rui not only won the title of "Star of QuYi" in the competition, but also won the "Little Peony Award" for her work "I Am Chinese". Hou Rui said that this platform nourishes her and exercises her, and in the future, she will continue to participate in the Youth Qu Art Competition, breathe and grow together with the competition.
It is worth mentioning that many of the children's instructors on the award list are famous music artists, reflecting the traditional music art. Among them, the "Red Scarf Rap Group" led by Xu Shili, a 72-year-old teacher who is the inheritor of Shanghai rap, has 9 programs winning awards. With the support of the Municipal Youth League Working Committee, the "Red Scarf Rap Group" was established for five and a half years, cultivating more than 160 people, and the first batch of children were recruited by Teacher Xu after entering the campus to open interest classes, and more and more people came to visit later. Zhang Minxin, the singer of "We Are little red scarves" who won the Little Peony Award, was one of the first students of Teacher Xu, and she began to learn Shanghai rap with Teacher Xu in the second grade, which is the longest time in the rap company's middle school, and this work was also tailored by shanghai pingtan performance artist Liu Min and him. Today, the members of the rap group are getting younger and younger, and the youngest is still in kindergarten. Although the age gap increases the difficulty of Teacher Xu's teaching, but the children's learning to sing has been strongly supported by parents to move him, sometimes he will let the older children and the children pair up to help teach, many parents also follow the whole process, some of them have learned to go back to teach their children, especially the parents of kindergarten children.
"Almost every parent in our rap group sings." He also set up a "Moms Rap Ensemble", and when they performed in September, the moms took to the stage to perform with their children. Shanghai rap is the local culture of Shanghai, "If we don't pass it on, the roots of Shanghai will be lost." This sense of responsibility is the reason why Teacher Xu has worked tirelessly to train children to learn Shanghai rap after retirement. He deeply regrets that many children will quit the rap group because of their studies in the second and third years of junior high school, but they still love this art and this team, and some people will occasionally come back to participate in their performances when they go to high school. Teacher Xu Shili is "planning" to set up a "youth rap group", and wants to gather these children who have learned to continue "rapping" after they enter the university, and even after work. Whether they take the professional road or as a hobby, "Shanghai rap this road can not be lost", can let them walk for a lifetime.
In addition to her busy performance tasks, Zhou Hong, an artist who is busy with her performances, usually teaches children to learn to evaluate bombs in four schools with two other colleagues, "high school, junior high school, primary school, together." In this competition, all three schools won awards. Originating in Suzhou, xingxing but in Shanghai, pingtan has obtained the soil for the depth, breadth and high development of art, and once became the most popular variety of music and art in Shanghai. "Nowadays, a lot of bookstores are closed, and the box office of the show is not very good." Zhou Hong introduced, "Why am I willing to be busy to teach my children?" "She hopes to cultivate not only small actors, but also audiences. In school, in the first three months, Teacher Zhou was "fierce", and after three months, Teacher Zhou was "good", which is the children's evaluation of Teacher Zhou, and Teacher Zhou is famous for his strictness. The support of the school and parents also deeply touched Zhou Hong, every time the club recruits a new person, the teacher will quietly come to her to give her "open the back door": "Teacher Zhou, Teacher Zhou, this class of students is not bad, you come to choose it!" Zhou Hong stressed that there is no conflict between learning to evaluate bullets and subject learning, and learning to evaluate bombs requires cultural cultivation in all aspects, "We used to evaluate bombs are people who read books very well", and the level of cultural accomplishment directly determines the effect presented on the stage. Qian Cheng believes that many Shanghai quyi contain Shanghai's unique regional culture, and the participation of so many primary and secondary school students is a good protection for our regional cultural environment.
