Marshal Chen Yi's life was bright and honest, humorous and funny, and he was very popular both inside and outside the party, and even Chairman Mao regarded him as a lifelong comrade-in-arms and poet friend.

After Chen Yi's death, Chairman Mao, despite his illness and weakness, wore pajamas to attend the memorial service, and said in public, "Chen Yi is a good comrade," which touched countless people.

On the contrary, the two had different views on the revolutionary cause, and even had fierce debates and even conflicts, but this conflict was limited to the public and not to private interests, and once there was a fair judgment, the wrong party would have the courage to recognize the mistake and redouble its respect for the right party, and the friendship between the two was not affected, but was even deeper and fiercer.

The first encounter between Chairman Mao and Chen Yi was on April 28, 1928, when the famous Zhumao Red Army met the division, and the two had a great sense of seeing each other and hating each other and comforting each other. Chen Yi also said with emotion: "Runzhi's talent is profound, has great ambitions, and has extraordinary temperament, and will become a great thing." Interact with Runzhi, such as a boy drinking fine wine, hurry! ”

Because both of them like poetry, in addition to discussing revolutionary events, they will also make poetry harmonious in their leisure time, and their personal feelings are even closer than those of Mr. Zhu.

However, what people did not expect was that the friendship between the two soon ushered in a big test.

The continuous growth of the Zhumao Red Army at Jinggangshan greatly shocked the Kuomintang reactionaries and mobilized heavy troops to encircle and suppress them; thanks to the wise and correct command of Chairman Mao and General Manager Zhu, they smashed the encirclement and suppression of the enemy army.

However, Chairman Mao also realized that the revolution cannot be confined to a narrow space like the "king of the mountains", but must have a high vision and open up a broader world in order to stand in an invincible position and move toward victory step by step. Therefore, Chairman Mao decided to lead the Red Fourth Army out of Jinggangshan and open up a revolutionary base area in southern Fujian.

At that time, everyone's revolutionary experience was not very rich, setbacks were inevitable, and the Red Fourth Army suffered a series of setbacks, so on June 22, 1929, the Seventh Congress of the Red Fourth Army was held in Longyan, Fujian Province. Attending the meeting were Chairman Mao, Zhu Laozong, Chen Yi, Lin Biao, Wu Zhonghao, and other former committee members, as well as party and soldier representatives from the Red Fourth Army brigade and above, and more than 40 others, and Chen Yi presided over the meeting.

Chen Yi was 28 years old at the time, in the stage of flesh and blood, and lamented some phenomena that were unfavorable to the revolution at that time, Geng Jie said bluntly, and put forward severe criticisms of both Chairman Mao and Zhu Laozong.

For example, with regard to Chairman Mao, Chen Yi was dissatisfied with his practice of "one-word hall" and always criticized others for being wrong, and only he was correct, which did not conform to the principle of "the minority obeying the majority" and was a typical feudal "patriarchal" style.

In addition, Chen Yi, who had studied in France and the Soviet Union and studied the "authentic original" Works of Marxism and Leninism, felt that Chairman Mao's theory that "Marxism-Leninism should be integrated with China's reality" was a manifestation of not understanding Marxism-Leninism.

In addition, with regard to Mr. Zhu, Chen Yi also bluntly criticized that Zhu De was from the old army, and there were many remnants of warlord habits, pulling gangs and gangs, emphasizing righteousness, and light party spirit.

Chen Yi's speech was endorsed by the majority of the people, and in the end, everyone held a democratic vote, and Chairman Mao unexpectedly lost the election of the former secretary of the Red Fourth Army committee he created, and Chen Yi was replaced by Chen Yi.

After the meeting, Chairman Mao proposed to find a place to recuperate and left the Red Fourth Army.

Mr. Zhu was very generous and gladly accepted the criticism of himself by the congress, but he had long realized that Chairman Mao was the dragon and phoenix among men, and the Red Army could not do without him, so he wrote a letter asking Chairman Mao to come back.

Chairman Mao was still angry at Chen Yi's criticism of himself, and he also coined a term -- "Chen Yi doctrine," which refers to people who lack advanced experience and strive to be peaceful and stable and everyone is happy by relying only on the general standard of truth that ordinary people can understand.

When Chairman Mao created the "Chen Yi Doctrine," Chen Yi was in Shanghai reporting to the Central Committee, but he was criticized by Zhou Enlai, who said that Chairman Mao's thinking was justified and asked the Red Fourth Army to continue to ask Chairman Mao to serve as the former secretary of the party committee.

Under the enlightenment of Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi suddenly realized that after returning home, he personally wrote a letter to Chairman Mao, admitting his mistake and saying that he would take the lead in overthrowing the superficial "Chen Yi doctrine."

Chairman Mao was also very touched and returned to The Ninth Congress of the Red Fourth Army in Gutian, Fujian Province, chairman Mao was re-elected as the secretary of the General Front Committee.

Since then, Chen Yi has completely become a loyal supporter of Chairman Mao, and whenever there is another question in the party, Chen Yi will clearly support Chairman Mao.

Xiang Ying criticized Chen Yi for his superstition of Chairman Mao, and Chen Yi retorted: If you don't believe it, it means that your level is too low

For example, at the Ningdu Conference held in the Central Soviet Region in 1932, Wang Ming and his henchmen, who had the support of the Communist International behind them, constantly squeezed Out Chairman Mao, and Chairman Mao was deprived of the general political commissar and military command of the Red Army. Indignant at this, Chen Yi openly supported Chairman Mao and accused some people of being too naïve to understand Chairman Mao's correct guiding ideology.

Chen Yi's remarks also aroused the disgust of some people, and Xiang Ying, then acting chairman of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, criticized him for being too "superstitious" with Chairman Mao.

However, Chen Yi unceremoniously retorted: "If you say that I am superstitious about Chairman Mao, then why are you superstitious about Bogu?" I have been dealing with Chairman Mao for many years, and many profound lessons have proved that Chairman Mao is correct, and in the face of facts, I have to believe in Chairman Mao. ”

In the early history of our party, Chairman Mao's position was not very stable and was ostracized several times, but history has proved countless times that Chairman Mao is right, and only he can lead the Chinese revolution to success.

As Zhou Enlai said: "You can oppose what Chairman Mao is determined to do, but don't easily oppose it." On several occasions in history, I have argued that the Chairman's decision was wrong and objected to it, but after some time it proved that his decision was right. After that, I will be cautious and not easily oppose it. But then again, I was convinced that the Chairman was wrong, and I firmly opposed it, but practice proved that the Chairman was right. Therefore, you can object to the opinions and decisions of the Chairman, but do not easily oppose them. ”

When I was in Yan'an, someone once asked Mr. Chen, in your heart, what kind of person is Chairman Mao?

Mr. Chen said affectionately: "The depth of the strategy is unmatched; the far-reaching of deliberation is unmatched; and no one can match the overall situation." I can't wait for Chairman Mao! ”
