So why do you have to "take special care" of the psyllids? Mainly it is related to citrus "terminal disease" Huanglongbing disease.
Those who grow citrus know that there is no cure for yellow dragon disease, and the key is prevention and control.
There are two routes of transmission of Xanthalobacter disease, one is grafting of seedlings, and the other is the psyllid (the only field vector of Xanthalobacter disease, which can transmit poison within 3-4 hours of bites).
Wood lice characteristics
1. Like to eat young shoots, and must be prevented in the new shoot period.
Adults and nymphs cluster on young shoots, young leaves and shoots, and also secrete honeydew, which can cause soot disease. When the young shoots are damaged, they will curl up and deform, or even wither.
2. Occurs throughout the year.
The occurrence of psyllids is related to the number of new shoots in citrus, and the spring, summer and autumn new shoots are the peak periods for the occurrence of new shoots in spring, summer and autumn.
July to August, the autumn shoots, is the peak of the breeding activities of psyllids. There is a small peak in the summer shoot period from May to June, and the winter shoot period from March to April is the winter shoot period in the last 9-12 months of spring shoots, and the psyllids will overwinter with adults at this time.
3. The vector of huanglongbing disease has a fast transmission speed.
Citrus trees infected with yellow dragon disease will release a special odor, attracting psyllids, wood lice on the citrus yellow dragon disease plant to feed, spawn, can produce a large number of fungal wood lice, and once the bacteria are obtained, the bacteria can proliferate in the body, lifelong poison, and accelerate development, reproductive ability to improve.
What is even more amazing is that the psyllid "changes in temperament" after eating the sap of the plant infected with yellow dragon disease and prefers to eat plants that are not infected with yellow dragon disease, as if it is deliberately spreading the germ.
Normal wood lice are more difficult to find, small, if you find a lot of wood lice, then the orchard will be terminally ill, and the spread of yellow dragon disease is also very serious.
The autumn stage is the peak period of the year for citrus lice, so the prevention and control of citrus lice in the autumn stage is a critical period to control and mitigate the spread of citrus yellow dragon disease.
End-of-life management
1. Unified spraying of the shoots, the effect of insect control is better.
2. Check the orchard every 7 to 10 days during the growth period of young shoots. If you find a psyllid, you must spray it quickly to kill.
Three medicines in one shot. The first spray should be carried out at the citrus dew bud stage (bud length 0.5-1 cm), after which it should be sprayed twice every 5-10 days. When the autumn shoots germinate, they combine the control of citrus aphids and leafminer moths, spray drugs to control psyllids and protect the autumn shoots.
3. Hang the yellow board and use the yellowing of adult wood lice to lure, especially during the extraction period, so that whether there are wood lice introduced in time.
Chemical control agents
The chemical control agent of the pyllid prefers the treatment method of inulin mixed with nicotine, internal suction + touch killing, because the psyllid does not fly to the fruit tree during the spraying process, and the addition of endositor helps to infiltrate the secondary killing of the pyllid.
Permethrins are generally selected with high-efficiency cypermethrin, high-efficiency cypermethrin, methrin, bifenthrin, and nicotinyl is generally selected from imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxazine, thiamethoxamine, flufenacerinamide and so on.
In addition to drug applications, biological control can also be considered, and fungi, internal and external parasitic bees, predators and so on can be used.
Fungi such as rose smoke-colored stick bunch spores, wax fly fungus, white zombie fungus, orange-shaped coat spore and other fungi, among which the rose smoke color stick bunch spore has the best effect; the exophysitic pyllid wasp, the inner parasitic jumping wasp family, as well as the predatory insect ladybird, grasshopper, aphid fly, spider and so on.
Precautions

2, because the wood lice have the ability to fly, the prevention and control of wood lice should be unified and ruled. The effect of taking medicine in your own orchard is not good. Other host plants that still exist in the orangery should also be sprayed and cut down to prevent parasitism.
3. When a yellow dragon disease tree is found, it is necessary to spray the psyllid first, and then dig up the diseased tree after 3-7 days. If only the tree is cut down, glyphosate should be used to suppress the stump to prevent the diseased tree from pulling out the diseased shoots again.
