In the NBA regular season, the Suns won 112-110 at home to the Pelicans.

Paul opened with consecutive assists inside and outside the line, 7 assists in a single quarter, and the total number of career assists was equal to Nash. However, the Pelicans blossomed more on this side, with Varlen, Hart and Graham all hitting three-pointers, and then Hart and Graham hit three points and the Pelicans led by 10 points. Booker stopped bleeding on three points but the Pelicans dunked back-to-back dunks, and Murphy hit a three-pointer for the Pelicans to lead by 16 points and end up 36-22 in the first quarter.

Murphy hit another three-pointer in the second quarter, giving the Pelicans a 19-point lead. The Suns scored consecutive baskets and Kaminsky stopped the bleeding with three points, but Varan hit another three. Crowder then hit a three-pointer, and then Paul assisted Andrer hit another three-pointer, and then Paul's career assists total reached 10,336 times to surpass Nash, ranking third in history. Bridges then hit a 3-pointer as the Suns trailed 48-59 at halftime.

In the second half, Kaminsky scored seven consecutive points and Cameron Johnson trailed by just three points after 2+1. Temple stopped bleeding on three points and Varlen hit another three, and the Pelicans pulled the gap back to double digits; McGee, Payton, Bridges and Johnson each scored at the end of the quarter, and the Suns trailed by only six points after the third quarter at 76-82.

In the fourth quarter, Bridges made a layup and McGee scored five consecutive points to score five points, and the Suns rebounded! Alexander and Bridges faced off three-pointers, but then Kaminsky scored 2-1 and Paul to give the Suns a six-point lead. Alexander responded with three points to narrow the gap to one point, but Paul scored consecutive shots, and Booker scored seven points in the last two minutes to stretch the gap to 10 points, ending the game once and for all.

Valanciunas had 23 points, 14 rebounds, 2 blocks and 5 turnovers, Hart had 16 points and 9 rebounds, Graham had 12 points, 6 assists and 4 steals on 4-of-15 shooting, and Alexander Walker had 10 points and 2 steals on 4-of-14 shooting. Bridges on the Suns side had 22 points, McGee 18 points, Booker had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 turnovers on 7-of-20 shooting, Paul had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 18 assists, Crowder had 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, and Kaminsky had 17 points and 4 steals.
