"For more than 90 years, Macy's Thanksgiving tour has brought joy to millions of people who gather on the streets of New York City with friends and family to experience this one-of-a-kind holiday celebration in families across the country." Will Coss, the executive producer of the parade, said at a news conference.

This year's 95th march will begin at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 25, and all volunteers and staff involved in the parade will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Macy's said that in order to host the event safely, the department store will work closely with New York City and New York State officials to ensure that practices in the health and safety aspects of parades comply with CDC guidelines and other relevant rules.
Macy's previously announced in September that its full-scale Thanksgiving parade would return this year. Its Monday press release details what's new and security measures for this year's celebrations.
A new "Funko Pop!" was added to the featured floats. inspired Grogu", also known as Baby Yoda in the hit series The Mandalorian. And Pikachu and Ibrahimovic from Pokemon are also a major feature.
Carrie Underwood will lead the musical line-up, with other performers including South Korean girl group Aespa and Matchbox 20 lead singer Rob Thomas.
Macy's held a scaled-down version of the Thanksgiving Day parade last year due to the pandemic. The parade abandoned its traditional 2.5-mile route and instead concentrated on the 34th Street neighborhood. Many of the performances in the 2020 parade were recorded in advance, rather than the usual live performances. Because interstate travel is avoided, the performers are locals, not from all over the country. (Original title: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Full Returns Giant Balloon Adds This Character)
