The word Popocarim is derived from Swahili (one of the three major African languages), so the monster is also from the African continent, in fact Popocarim is a monster born after Las Plagas parasitized the African bat.
Las Plagas is a parasite that only appeared in Resident Evil 4, parasitizing and occupying the host central nervous system, thus gaining control of the body. What is more frightening is that they can not only inherit the intelligence of the host, but also describe that Las Plagas belongs to the social structure of the insect family (they can still communicate after parasitizing different hosts), so this monster has the ability to destroy the world.

Regarding the origin of Las Plagas, the information is not too clear. But Las Plagas itself is Spanish, and there is another plot in the game about the excavation of Las plagas fossils, so it is speculated that the prototype of Las Plagas should be an ancient Spanish parasite, born at least 10,000 years ago (at least 10,000 years after the formation of fossils).
So Las Plagas was probably born after scientists extracted fossil active cells and combined them with viruses.
Popocarim's appearance: about 7 to 8 meters long, wingspan of more than 15 meters, weight reference to homophotoptera, about 500 to 800 pounds. The main torso basically retains the shape of a giant bat, but the ordinary bat is a pair of wings, while popocarim has four wings. The second half of the body was transformed into a worm shape by Las Plagas, and the bat originally had a pair of knife feet near its hind legs to support the worm's abdomen.

Popocarim moves: It can either fly in the sky like a host bat or crawl fast on the ground like an arthropod (and jump during combat).
It is not difficult to find that Popocarim's flight time is limited, otherwise it would not land frequently during combat, after all, it is very difficult to fly with a tank-like belly. So it's not that Popocarim is stupid, he obviously has air supremacy, and he always lands on the ground to find death.
Popocarim attacks mainly with fangs and claws (front claws), occasionally using tail claws when flying, and the main role of the middle pair of knife feet is to move without participating in combat. However, in the movie, the tail of Popocarim can also extend its tentacles to attack.
In the original, Popocarim can also spit tentacles out of his mouth to attack, and Las Plagas's other parasitic beasts can attack like this.
Popocarim's whole body is covered with hard armor and thick flesh, especially the bat part of the main trunk, which is basically a steel bone, and the only weakness is its large belly.
In fact, in the original design, Popocarim's large belly is the main part of Las plagas, and after parasitizing the giant bat, its head fuses with the central nervous system in it, and the fat posterior tail is exposed. Therefore, fighting bats is equivalent to fighting zombies, even if it is a mess, Popocarim still has combat power, and the tail is the real living part of Popocarim, and when it hits, it will splash yellow bodily fluids.
