Build a country with military merit and live a war horse for life. In the "Wei Feng Yin" sung by the creator Zhou Shen, let us know about the Li Shimin who is dressed in fresh clothes and angry horses and the Zhaoling Liujun who accompanies the battlefield.
Zhaoling Liujun is located in Liquan, Shaanxi Tang Taizong
The north side of the altar on the north side of the Zhaoling Tomb is on the east and west sides
Six horse bluestone reliefs
It is now in the collection of the Forest of Stone Steles Museum in Xi'an
In the tenth year of Tang Zhenguan, in order to commemorate the six warhorses that Tang Taizong had ridden in the founding war, Tang Taizong Li Shimin ordered the painter Yan Liben to first draw the figure of the six horses, and then the carver Yan Lide copied and carved it on the stone, and the hymn book written by Tang Taizong himself was carved in the corner of the rough stone by the great calligrapher Ouyang Qian, and after carving, it was placed in the altar of the northern foothills of the Zhaoling Tomb.
The prototype of the "Six Horses" is the six warhorses that Emperor Taizong of Tang used when Li Shimin turned to the north and south in the five years from 618 to 622, and they all accompanied Li Shimin on the battlefield. In Bai Juyi's poem, Zeng Yun: "The purpose is to zhen wang ye, and wang ye is hard to tell his descendants", in order to warn his descendants of the hardships of entrepreneurship, but also to remember the six horses that depend on him, Li Shimin issued an edict when he built the Zhaoling Tomb in the tenth year of Zhenguan (636), and put the name of the horse that "the horse that the emperor rode on, the one who was in distress, engraved the name into the true form, and left it at his disposal." ”
Unfortunately, the "Salu Purple" and "Fist Hair" Erjun in the Zhaoling Liujun stone carvings were lost abroad in 1914 and are now in the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA. The remaining four are now on display at the Forest of Stone Steles Museum in Xi'an. Mr. Lu Xun praised Liujun as a masterpiece of "unprecedented ancients".
Li Shimin used the victories on the battlefield to pave the ladder to the throne for himself. The war horse under the crotch is his most reliable comrade-in-arms, the soldier dies for the confidant, and the battle death on the battlefield is the best home for bmw's good colt.
Some researchers believe that Li Shimin's high rate of war horse casualties is related to his improved use of cavalry. In the wei and jin dynasties of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the protection of cavalry horses received unprecedented attention, and horse armor began to develop, with the result that the heavy cavalry equipped with horse armor expanded rapidly and became the main force of the army, with tens of thousands of people, and at that time, the heavy cavalry with armor on both people and horses was called "armor riding equipment". However, it sacrificed the advantages of light and flexible cavalry.
The "Six Horses of Zhaoling" did not have any armor, which was proof of Li Shimin's mobility and flexibility in exerting cavalry. Since Li Shimin's cavalry shocked the world, the heavy cavalry gradually declined, and the light cavalry without armor became the mainstream.
