Wang Pinglu: The first person to start an anti-Japanese guerrilla war in eastern Hebei

He joined the Communist Party of China in February 1932 and was appointed secretary of the Qian'an County CPC Committee in 1933. Under his leadership, the county's party organizations quickly grew to an unprecedented size of more than 40 branches and more than 400 party members. The Qianxi area became an area with a good revolutionary foundation in Jingdong's counties at that time. In January 1934, the organization launched the "Qian'an Rebellion". In 1935, he also secretly operated in Luan County, Laoting and other counties, helping to restore the party organization there, cultivating anti-Japanese forces, and with the help of the local militia gao Zhiyuan's influence, he planned and assassinated Liu Zuozhou, the leader of the third security brigade under the puppet Hebei Eastern Defense Autonomous Government. After that, the focus of activities was shifted westward, new footholds such as Heiwa, Xizhuang, and Changshangou were opened, and the party organizations in the relocated areas were gradually restored. In 1936, he was appointed secretary of the Jirebian Special Committee, and Li Ziguang and Han Dongzheng, the principal responsible persons of the former Qianzun Jizhong County Party Committee and the Qian'an County CPC Committee, who were mistakenly excluded by the "Left" leaning, resumed their posts, realizing a high degree of unity of thinking among comrades within the party. After the "July 7 Incident," the Jidong Party organization established the "Jidong Branch of the North China People's Armed Self-Defense Association," and Wang Pinglu served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Branch, and was reappointed as the military minister of the special committee within the party, responsible for launching the anti-Japanese guerrilla war in the Jire Border Region. At the beginning of December 1937, the Special Committee presided over the Luan County Redundant Tun Conference to specifically study and determine the issue of launching guerrilla warfare. After the meeting, he resolutely implemented the decision of the special committee, quickly returned to the west, and immediately took action, expanding the guerrilla force that Yao Yilin called "8 big guns and 13 pioneers" to more than 30 people, and formally established the "First Detachment of the Third Military Region of the North China Anti-Japanese Coalition Army" in Heiwa Village in the Qianxi area, where he served as the commander of the detachment. In December 1937, after participating in the People's Anti-Japanese Representative Conference of the 10 counties of Jidong held in Duoyutun, he created the "First Detachment of the North China Anti-Japanese Coalition Army in Jidong" based on the original guerrilla group and served as the commander of the detachment. On the night of January 7, 1938, Wang Pinglu led a team around the village along the Qinghe River and raided the "Qinghe Border Police Station", wounded in the battle, due to excessive blood loss, at the age of 36.
