(Yang Yong and Wang Ping)

What's going on?

In October 1950, when the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out, Peng Dehuai took command and assisted him in commanding Deng Hua, Han Xianchu, Hong Xuezhi and others. In the early days of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, it was mainly them who sang the leading role.

At that time, whether it was Yang Yong, Wang Ping, or Ding Sheng, they were all still in China. Until 1953, seeing that the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea was about to end, Mr. Peng personally ordered the generals to let Yang Yong and Wang Ping fight in North Korea.

Both of them are Mr. Peng's old subordinates, and they are both old men of the Red Third Army. It should be said that Yang Yong was the commander of the Fifth Corps, but he did not lead his troops to North Korea, and the Fifth Corps has been dismantled and no longer exists.

Yang Yong went to Korea and succeeded Yang Chengwu as commander of the 20th Corps, and Wang Ping as the political commissar of the 20th Corps. Yang Yong is a tiger general, and he came to fight. Although it is late, it must also make a wonderful appearance and teach the enemy a hard lesson.

After some investigation and research, Yang Yong decided to launch a counterattack in Jincheng and beat Syngman Rhee wildly. At the Corps Operations Meeting, several commanders of the combat corps came. Among them was Ding Sheng, commander of the 54th Army.

The 54th Army is a new ace army, established in 1952 after the founding of the People's Republic of China, by the 44th Army pulled out by Deng Hua and the 45th Army pulled out by Huang Yongsheng.

The powerful combined formed the ace of the 54th Army, with Huang Yongsheng's favorite general Ding Sheng as the commander. Ding Sheng is a famous red ghost, known as Ding Daring, in the Northeast Battlefield, he was deeply valued by Lin Biao, and made many miraculous achievements.

When he led the 54th Army to fight in Korea, Ding Sheng was just 40 years old, and it was the time of his life to be proud.

Yang Yong announced the battle plan and the combat missions of each army. After hearing this, Ding Sheng couldn't help frowning, his face was unhappy, and he complained in public that he had given important tasks to several armies in North China, and the task of giving our 54th Army was too light.

It is not unreasonable for Ding Sheng to say this. The 20th Corps was originally a unit of the North China Military Region. Several of the corps under the original jurisdiction of the Corps also came from North China. Ding Sheng and the 54th Army under his command were outsiders.

Everyone knows that the severity of the combat tasks assigned directly determines the subsequent results. Yang Yong let the troops in North China eat meat and let the 54th Army drink soup, and the task deployed to the 54th Army was so light, it was obviously bullying outsiders.

If you have an opinion, you have to put it forward. Ding Sheng is not Yang Yong's old subordinate, and they are not familiar with each other, so Yang Yong is not good at criticizing him rashly. Doing ideological work is the duty of political commissar Wang Ping.

Wang Ping left Ding Sheng alone, and did not criticize him when he came up, but first affirmed it, saying that Ding Sheng's desire to fight and desire to make more meritorious contributions is very good and worthy of praise. Then Wang Ping tactfully criticized Ding Sheng.

It is inappropriate to say that he said that in public at the operational meeting, and it is not conducive to unified command. Wang Ping patiently explained that in this combined army operation, troops from North China, the First Field, the Second Army, and the Fourth Field participated in the battle, and so many troops fighting together needed unified command and all armies needed to obey orders.

Wang Ping also said the words at the beginning of the article. Ding Sheng said that Wang Ping's involvement in the mountains of North China was somewhat because Wang Ping was a general from the North China battlefield. Ding Sheng said that Yang Yong engaged in North China Mountain, which was completely false.

Because Yang Yong was the general of the Second Field Army, how could he engage in North China Mountain? After listening to Wang Ping's words, Ding Sheng realized his impulsiveness and mistakes, and took the initiative to admit that what he said was wrong.

The 54th Army was in Korea until 1958, and the last batch was withdrawn to China, and Ding Sheng assisted Yang Yong and Wang Ping in their work, and they were able to cooperate for so long, which shows that they got along very well.
