Recently, the special planning plan (draft) for the selection of the longchang road across the river was publicized. The Longchang Road Tunnel starts from Yangshupu Road, Longchang Road, Yangpu District in the north to Qishan Road, Yunshan Road, Pudong New Area in the south, with a total length of about 2 kilometers, and is an urban secondary trunk road and an important cross-river passage connecting the north-south directions on both sides of the Pujiang River.

The Longchang Road Tunnel is located between the Inner Ring Yangpu Bridge and the Central Military Road Tunnel. As a cross-river passage on the north side of the inner ring road, the Yangpu Bridge has always been high in traffic. According to the monthly traffic operation report (road network) released by the Traffic Command Center of the Municipal Transportation Commission in September this year, the average daily traffic flow of Yangpu Bridge exceeded 120,000 times, and the average daily traffic flow of the military road tunnel exceeded 100,000 times.
The Longchang Road Tunnel will mainly serve the cross-river traffic needs of the southern section of Yangpu Binjiang and the Jinyang Community in Pudong New Area, and as a regional cross-river channel in the city center area and between the central ring, it will share the local close-distance cross-river traffic and play a role in balancing the road network and encrypting the cross-river channel.
According to the plan, the construction scale of the Longchang Road tunnel is 4 motorized lanes in both directions, and the design speed is 40 km / h. In the Puxi section, the tunnel entrance and exit are set up on Longchang South Road, and the connection point is located on the south side of the intersection of Yangshupu Road. The line crosses the Huangpu River after crossing Yangpu Road and Anpu Road from north to south, and reserves the directional ramp connection conditions with the yangpu road underground connection channel planned for the core area of the southern section of Yangpu Binjiang. After passing through the wharf by the river, the Pudong section of the line connects to Yunshan Road, and after crossing Changyi Road and Pudong Avenue from north to south, the tunnel entrance and exit are set up on the north side of the intersection of Qishan Road.
In order to ensure the traffic space of motor vehicles and slow traffic on both sides of the open section of the tunnel entrance, the red line of the open section of the tunnel entrance and exit is controlled by 40-50 meters. The tunnel has set up wind towers in Pudong and Puxi, and shares a management center with the Jiangpu Road Tunnel.
At present, between Pudong and Puxi, 16 highway cross-river tunnels have been built under the Huangpu River, such as Shangzhong Road Tunnel, Longyao Road Tunnel, Dapu Road Tunnel, South Xizang Road Tunnel, Fuxing East Road Tunnel, Renmin Road Tunnel, Yan'an East Road Tunnel, Xinjian Road Tunnel, Dalian Road Tunnel, Jiangpu Road Tunnel, Jungong Road Tunnel, Zhoujiazui Road Tunnel, Xiangyin Road Tunnel, Changjiang Road Tunnel, Outer Ring Tunnel, Suburban Ring Tunnel, etc.
