In his opening speech, Ji Di Majia said that the land of Xuzhou has been closely related to poetry since ancient times, and many poets have reflected the enthusiastic practice of the people of Xuzhou in creating a beautiful new life in the new era with their excellent works. The Jiangsu Writers Association and Jiangsu universities represented by Jiangsu Normal University have devoted themselves to the prosperity and development of contemporary poetry in recent years, and in addition to holding the Yangtze River Poetry Society, they have also carried out several academic seminars on the theme of new poetry. These activities help us to inherit the great poetic tradition of China, especially since May Fourth, and clarify many theoretical and creative practice issues. I hope that the poetry brand of the Yangtze River Poetry Association can continue to do it, and I also hope that the poets can leave new beautiful poems for Xuzhou.
The award ceremony of the fourth "Zijin Literary Journal Excellent Works Award" "Yangtze River Poetry Journal" award was held at the event site. In the following forum and annual Yangtze River PEN conference, the participants launched a rich dialogue around the theme of "Community of Human Destiny and China's New Poetry Creation - The Spread of Chinese Poetry Overseas". Jidimaga said that in the history of Chinese and foreign poetry translation, there is a big gap between the number of Chinese works translated abroad and Chinese translations of foreign works, and when a country integrates into the world and carries out international exchanges, it must not only pay attention to economic and political exchanges, but also pay attention to literary exchanges. The poet himself must have the consciousness of choosing a translator in order to translate effectively, so as to preserve the essence of our national language to the greatest extent. Sun Xintang, Xichuan, Huang Fan, Bai Yilin, Wang Zheng, etc. believe that poetry has a strong inclusiveness, can truly cross the boundaries of national and cultural boundaries, and become a common spiritual language throughout the world. The quality of Chinese poetry is not inferior to that of any country in the world, and it is necessary to make full use of various international communication channels, innovate in writing concepts and practices, and spread Chinese poetry farther.
In another seminar entitled "Poetry in the New Era from the Perspective of Critical Spirit", the participants discussed topics such as "Community of Human Destiny and the Dimension of Poetry in the New Era", "Criticism and the Construction of Poetry in the New Era", and "New Growth Points of Poetry in the New Era". It is believed that the critics need to pay more attention to the study of poetry, which is of great significance for reshaping the poetic character of the Chinese language. Both poets and critics need to think about their relationship with the times and how to express their ideas in the present time and space. Poetry and poetry criticism need to truly form a dialogue relationship, and through dialogue and interpretation, form a new effectiveness association between poetry creation and criticism.
