On July 26, 2021, in response to the requirements of the "Cloud Practice" activity of summer college students "always follow the party and strive for a new era" by the state and schools, the Chengyang Service Team of the School of Geographical Sciences of South China Normal University, on the basis of combining the epidemic and the background of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the party, closely linked with the actual needs of students, provided students with five major courses: cultural literacy, practical experience, mental health and personal growth, a series of special topics around party history and the epidemic, and special communication classes to break through time and space barriers.

Cultural literacy courses: happy learning, improve cultural literacy

The first type of course closely follows the theme of "happy learning and improving cultural literacy", and sets up a variety of interesting subject courses with discipline cultural literacy as the main line. The team members explored the geography of China's lakes by leading the students into the interesting geography course of "The Past and Present Life of China's Natural Lakes"; led the students to appreciate the exotic customs through the English travel course of "Soup Soup Takes You to Britain"; and explored the secrets of the clouds with the students through the practical course of "Watching the Clouds and Knowing the Sky - Being Your Own Weather Forecaster"... Cultural literacy courses pay attention to the actual life of students, design courses according to students' psychological characteristics, enrich and diversify, and lead students to experience the joy of learning.

Hands-on courses: Hands-on experience and feel the charm of practice

The second type of course pays attention to the combination of theory and practice, the connection between knowledge and life, and through the more practical courses, it broadens students' horizons, stimulates innovative thinking, and exercises students' hands-on practical ability. Through the lesson of "Impression of Paper Cutting", the team members led the students to feel the traditional culture of Chinese paper-cutting and the spirit of perseverance of craftsmen in big countries. In the classroom, the "Chinese knot" paper-cutting teaching activity was also carried out, so that students could move their hands and gradually cultivate students' habits and abilities of being good at observation and diligent thinking, hoping that students would further explore their interests and hobbies in this process, so as to better understand and improve themselves.

Mental Health and Personal Growth Course: Focus on the mind and experience the taste of growth

The third type of curriculum pays close attention to the psychological characteristics of current adolescent students, and carries out theme education courses related to the characteristics of adolescent students, mental health, ideals and beliefs, etc., to help children improve their psychological quality and establish positive values. Through courses such as "Unveiling the Psychological Veil" and "Those Things in Adolescence", the team members help students to further perceive their inner state and learn methods and techniques to adjust their mentality, thereby reducing the worries and troubles of adolescence. At the same time, the team members will also open a "Children Close to the Stars" course to lead students to understand the special group of autistic children and improve humanistic care and social responsibility.

A series of special courses around the theme of party history and epidemic: focusing on the times and striving to be responsible young people

At the moment of the epidemic, a hundred years of party history. The fourth type of course activities are selected in combination with the background of the current era and the hot spots of social current affairs, and through a series of special activities of the times such as "India in the Storm of the Epidemic" and "From the "Age of Awakening" to the History of the Bloody Party", students are led to review the history of the CPC's century-old struggle and pay attention to the bits and pieces in the process of fighting the epidemic. With this activity, students should strengthen their attention to current affairs, enhance their sense of social responsibility, ignite patriotic enthusiasm, and establish firm ideals and beliefs.

Breaking the Barriers of Time and Space Featured Interconnection Course: Heyuan Shantou Shares Hometown

This time, Yunxia Rural made full use of the characteristics of online interconnection, and joined hands with another team of the college to practice for Heyuan in Guangdong Province to jointly create a new activity course - "Love My Hometown" cloud sharing activity. Chaoshan culture, Hakka culture and Cantonese culture are known as the three major cultural subjects of Lingnan, and although Chaoshan and Hakka are located in eastern Guangdong, there are great differences in cultural traditions, language habits and living customs. The two teams joined forces to connect the two major regions of Shantou Heyuan through the Internet, leading the children of Shantou Heyuan to share the characteristics of their hometowns with each other, feel the charm of different cultures, deepen their love for their hometowns in the process, and promote the friendship and exchange of students from the two places.
