The DPP authorities have continued to promote "de-Chiang Kai-shek" and forced all units to remove the bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, but Taiwan's "promotion of transfer" today complained that there are 1,553 "authoritarian symbols" in public space on the island, and the current progress of removal and disposal is only 26.79 percent, and said that the difficulties and restrictions encountered in the past three years can be summarized into two major reasons: First, the "authoritarian legacy" is deeply rooted, and the second is the lack of "legal tools."

The "promotion of transfers" also said that "authoritarian symbols" have penetrated into every corner, from the statues of great people, street naming, to the daily use of currency, and even the commemoration ceremonies of specific festivals, which has become the norm in the daily life of the society; the historical context of the establishment of specific institutions makes it difficult to promote the disposal of "authoritarian symbols".
It has been learned that the order to go to Chiang Kai-shek to "promote the transfer of meetings" has been resisted by the people. For example, Sanhe Primary School in Longtan District, Taoyuan City, refused to remove it on the grounds that "the statue was donated by the local gentry, and there are still alumni names behind it, and it will not be removed for the time being"; Xinyi Primary School in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, replied that "the school currently has 1 Sculpture of Chiang Kai-shek, which was donated by the 3rd Parents' Association, which is of commemorative significance, if it is to be demolished, it is necessary to obtain the consent of previous parents' meetings"; the reply note made by Kaohsiung Municipal Chao Old Middle School to the disposal of the statue of Chiang Kai-shek in the ring of the old school gate pointed out, "Community people and local elders said, The statue faces the intersection and can block the road rush, which has the effect of feng shui and calming."
The reply note of Ziguan Primary School in Kaohsiung City said that the construction of the statue of Chiang Kai-shek at the main entrance of the school was caused by many disasters between teachers and students 70 years ago, and the parents of a car accident student donated all the medical compensation to build the statue, and later the life of teachers and students was much calmer, and the local gentry did not have the intention of giving authoritarian authority to this building, and the relevant removal or change of form was related to the peace of teachers and students and the community reaction.
In view of the DPP authorities' push for the "de-Chiang Kai-shek" campaign, Hong Xiuzhu, former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang, once said that there are many things worthy of concern in Taiwan, but it is very disappointing that the "rulers" have given the first priority to "de-Chiang Kai-shek" or eliminated the KMT, just to cover up the incompetence of the authorities and to use their ideology to maintain political power.
