Initiated and chaired by professor Chengtong Yau, an internationally renowned mathematician, the competition aims to train female mathematicians and encourage more girls to devote themselves to the study of mathematics. The first competition was hosted by the Yau Chengtong Center for Mathematical Sciences of Tsinghua University and hosted by the Affiliated Middle School of Tsinghua University. The first Yau Chengtong Girls' Mathematics Competition opened in September and received a total of 931 valid application materials from 27 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, including some overseas countries. After the qualification review, more than 140 students participated in the competition, 35 were shortlisted for interviews, and 25 won awards. The reporter learned that the Tsinghua University Yau Chengtong Mathematical Science Leadership Talent Training Program (hereinafter referred to as the "Tsinghua Mathematics Leadership Program") recruits students with outstanding mathematical potential and strengths at the secondary school stage around the world. The program enrolls no more than 100 students per year, enrolled in the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics major of Tsinghua University (eight-year system), relying on tsinghua University's Truth Seeking College for training, using the "3+2+3" training model, from undergraduate continuous training to doctoral students.
