Tsinghua University 2022 Yau Chengtong Mathematics Elite Class began registration on December 23

On November 15, Tsinghua University announced the enrollment method of the 2022 "Yau Chengtong Mathematics Elite Class", and online applications will be accepted from December 23 to 30.

【Enrollment Targets and Application Requirements】

The enrollment target of Tsinghua University's Yau Chengtong Mathematics Excellence Class this time is ordinary third-year high school graduates who meet the registration conditions for the 2022 unified college entrance examination, as well as ordinary second-year high school students. It is planned to recruit no more than 30 people, rather than indiscriminate, admitted to tsinghua university "mathematics and applied mathematics" major, and the undergraduate stage can not be transferred to other majors.

The expert group organized by the school will conduct a comprehensive review of the mathematical strengths, usual performance, academic research, innovation potential and other aspects of the registered candidates, and the preliminary evaluation results will be divided into three grades: excellent, passed and not passed. The preliminary assessment of "excellent" rating can be directly recognized as a finalist; students who "pass" in the preliminary assessment can participate in the test session (mainly interviews, focusing on students' interest and talent in mathematics); students who do not pass the preliminary assessment cannot participate in the follow-up session.

Candidates who are finally shortlisted for the college entrance examination should register for the college entrance examination, among which the second-year students of the high school should hold the "Tsinghua University 2022 "Yau Chengtong Mathematics Excellence Class" Shortlisting Certificate" to register for the college entrance examination in their provinces.

Among the shortlisted candidates, the members of the National Training Team of the Olympiad for Secondary School Students do not need to participate in the college entrance examination to meet the Tsinghua admission requirements; the actual scores of other candidates need to meet the score line of the province where they are located, that is, to meet the Tsinghua admission requirements, and the college entrance examination results of the reformed provinces of the college entrance examination are announced separately.

Tsinghua University stressed that if there is false content in the candidates' application materials or conceals major facts that may adversely affect students, once they are verified, their application and shortlisting qualifications will be cancelled immediately; those who have already enrolled in the application shall be handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education and the school. Secondary schools shall carefully verify the materials issued, and if there is a situation of fraud, the school reserves the right to take relevant measures.
