Today is Mother's Day 2020, and I would like to use this document to give birth to Mother Nature, who has given birth to human beings and countless animals and plants.
Last year, I accompanied my parents on a trip to Gulangyu Island, and at the entrance of Haoyue Garden, a work of art made of plastic bottles deeply stung my heart. The plastic bottles are all polluted garbage picked up from the ocean, and the bottles are painted dark blue, forming the shape of a dolphin. Yes, it is this plastic waste that hurts countless marine life every year, including dolphins, turtles, and deep-sea fish, who are either cut by plastic debris and cut their esophagus, or wrapped in plastic bags, and can no longer happily play and swim.

Although the sea does not make a sound, the muddy sea is the tears of the sea, and the frequent tsunami is her cry - "Please save me and my children!" Give us a quiet blue! ”
China is already actively engaged in marine litter control actions. In response to "white pollution", China has implemented the "plastic restriction order" since June 2008. According to a data from the National Development and Reform Commission, the average annual growth rate of plastic bag use in China has dropped from more than 20% before 2008 to less than 3% at present, and the use of plastic bags in major commodity retail places has decreased by an average of 200,000 tons per year.
In January this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly issued the Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution, which clarified the periods for 'banning plastics' and 'limiting plastics'. While banning some plastic supplies, it is also proposed to promote the application of alternative products and models, standardize the recycling of plastic waste, and facilitate the lives of the masses.
At the same time, China has also included the prevention and control of marine garbage pollution into the pilot work of the "bay chief system", prohibiting the dumping of domestic garbage into the sea. At the same time, we will increase the intensity of marine garbage cleaning and carry out demonstrations of comprehensive prevention and control of marine garbage pollution in coastal cities. For example, according to the Action Plan for the Comprehensive Management of the Bohai Sea, the comprehensive treatment of garbage in the rivers and coastal waters of the Bohai Sea has been carried out. These provide strong support to prevent plastic waste from entering the ocean.
These powerful measures all illustrate the country's strong determination to control plastic pollution, and also make us happy to see the bright prospects of marine environmental protection. But in real life, we still need to work together to reduce the pollution of white garbage and jointly maintain the nature on which human beings live. You know, these plastic bottles, plastic bags and other plastic products are extremely difficult to decompose, and even take up to hundreds of years.
At present, a total of 8 million tons of plastic waste are thrown into the ocean every year, becoming the "killer" of poisonous marine life, which also enters the human body through fish. What's even more frightening is that in the report of the Global Economic Forum, experts predict that by 2050, the total amount of plastic waste will even exceed that of marine fish! The road to marine litter control is heavy and long.
In addition to the state and environmental protection organizations, the role of individuals in environmental governance cannot be ignored. Many artists have incorporated the concept of environmental protection into their works of art, or filmed into documentaries, films, literary works, and so on. As ordinary people, we can also start from a little bit, reduce the use of plastic products, reduce the emission of white waste. For example, when you go to the supermarket, you bring your own environmentally friendly shopping bag, carry a thermos cup when you go out, refuse to use disposable tableware, take out less, use less plastic bags, go to the beach to play without throwing plastic bottles, replace plastic products with glass products at home, and so on.
Everyone starts by changing their daily habits and reducing white waste pollution. Let us jointly turn the concept of environmental protection into practice, actively play our role, and retain the beauty of nature with a show of hands.
