Born in Shenyang, Manchu blue flag bearer; father Guan Shidong, ex-wife Zhang Bingqian, daughter Guan Zhilin; moved to Hong Kong with his father; he was one of the most popular Chinese film actors in Hong Kong in the 1960s.

Guan Shan was born in 1933 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. His father, Guan Shidong, did not have a dime relationship with Guan Linzheng. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Guan Shidong served as the chief of staff of the Lieutenant Colonel of the 331st Brigade of the 57th Army. After retiring from the army, the family moved to Hong Kong.

When the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Guan Shidong entrusted Guan Shan to his seventh brother and went to the front himself.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Guan Shidong took Guan Shan away, and soon After, Guan Shan studied at Sun Yat-sen University.

After Kwan shih-tung retired from the military, the family moved to Hong Kong.

Soon after, Guan Shidong died, and Guan Shan was forced to take on the responsibility of supporting his family, and after dropping out of school, he successively worked as a miner, a dock worker, a lifeguard in the beach, and later entered the iron factory as a lathe to support his brother's schooling.

In 1954, after Guan Shan watched Tao Qin's "Human Ghost Love", the idea of entering the film circle arose. In the same year, he failed to apply for the "Free Company" actor.

In 1956, he was admitted to the actor training class of the Great Wall Company, and after a year of training, director Yuan Yangan found that Guan Shan was thick-skinned and familiar with rural life, and thought that he was suitable for playing the role of Ah Q.

In 1958, Guan Shan won the Best Actor (Silver Sail Award) at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland for "The True Biography of A Q". He became the first Hong Kong actor to win an award at an international film festival at the age of 25. He is the first actor in Hong Kong to have the title of international film emperor.

In 1961, Guan Shan joined shaw film company, and in the same year co-starred with the famous film star Lin Dai in the literary and art blockbuster "No Love", as well as "Red Tears" and "Beacon Love". He became one of the most popular Chinese film actors in the 1960s, and was best at acting in literary films.

Since the 1970s, Guan Shan has been filming in Hong Kong and Taiwan as a free agent. In 1972, he founded Kwan Pictures, produced films such as "Tang Renke", and served as his own director.

In 1979, he participated in Li's TV series "Tianlong Tips".

After the 1980s, Guan Shan abandoned film to enter the business, occasionally making cameo appearances in movies, including "Hero's True Colors Sequel", "Police Story Sequel" and so on.

Representative works include: "A Q Zheng Biography", "No Love", "Blue and Black", "Shanshan", "Beacon Fire", etc.

On October 1, 2012, Guan Zhilin issued a statement confirming the death of her father, Guan Shan, at the age of 79.

On the 10th, at the First Floor of the Hong Kong Funeral Home, a funeral ceremony was held at 8:00 a.m. the next day, and then the coffin was buried at the Overseas Chinese Cemetery in Dapeng Bay, Shenzhen.

Guan Shan married the Great Wall Company actress Zhang Bingxi in 1960, and in 1962 gave birth to her eldest daughter, named Kwan Ka Wai, the future famous Hong Kong movie star Kwan Chi Lin. Nine years later, he had another son.

After the divorce in 1975, Zhang Bingqian immigrated to the United States with her son, and Guan Zhilin stayed in Hong Kong with her father.

Shan Kwan (20 April 1933 – 1 October 2012), formerly known as Guan Tieqi (關铁骑) and Guan Bowei (關伯威), was a Manchu blue flag bearer. A native of Shenyang, Liaoning. Chinese film actor.
