At this moment, Rebbe Shangshu Changqing saw the candidate's powerful calligraphy and thoughtfully let the temple test continue for a person.
As an emperor with distinctive characteristics in the history of the Qing Dynasty, Qianlong can be said to have been widely known with the spread of film and television works over the years. As we all know, Qianlong especially liked pairs during his reign, so he was also jokingly called "couplet tianzi" by many people. And in the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong, between Qianlong and the newly promoted Tanhua Liu Fenghuan, a very interesting thing happened, let's take a look at it together!

Since the age of 19, Liu Fengchen became famous in Pingxiang, Jiangxi. In the next ten years, this talent, who was known as the "great instrument of Jiangxi", seemed to have disappeared and fell into silence.
Fifty-four years after Qianlong, after ten years of precipitation, this 29-year-old Jiangxi talent successfully broke through in the examination. In the later temple examination, although there were several twists and turns, under the maintenance of the Rebbe Shoshu, he submitted an answer sheet intact. After walking out of the Bohol Hall, he took a long breath, arranged his clothes, and bowed his head to the main hall to perform a salute.
After the selection of a group of reading officials, Liu Fenghuan's answer sheet was listed in the top ten and sent to the Yangxin Hall, where Qianlong personally read the batch. As Qianlong held the Zhu pen, he designated it as the third seat of the first division. If there were no problems, he would also become Qianlong's fifty-four years of Tanhualang.
Examination of the Imperial Examination
After setting the ranking, Qianlong had the heart to look at his hand-picked title list of flowers, after all, these three people have a great chance to become the pillars of the future, as an emperor, it is too normal to win people's hearts.
Therefore, in the voice of the inner minister, Qianlong successively met with the three people in turn. When he saw Liu Fenghuan, Qianlong's face was frightened, and he never expected that this brilliant Tanhualang was actually a one-eyed. It turned out that when Liu Fenghuan was a child, because he was too greedy, he caused an eye injury and fell into an eye disease. Qianlong didn't know this at all in advance, otherwise how could he have let such a person with a flawed appearance be hand-picked as a tanhua. However, the gold list has already posted a notice, and it is not easy to retract the re-recording no matter how much remorse is made.
It is said that Qianlong also launched a fierce struggle in his heart at this time: take him, this one-eyed tanhualang is really not good; don't take him, the world still has to laugh at himself and take people by appearance. After some thought, Qianlong had a plan in mind, and he immediately said to Liu Fenghuan, "I want to test you for school, if you have real talent and practical learning, you are still your Tanhua lang; if you are not good at learning, it is no wonder that you are deposed and recorded in you."
When today's son wanted to test himself, Liu Fenghuan, who was self-reliant and good at learning, was a little dismissive, after all, his own flowers had no water, so he respectfully replied to Qianlong, "The subject obeys the will, please ask the holy lord to give the question."
When Qianlong saw that the plan was successful, he smiled and said to Liu Fenghuan, "I will make an upper link, and you can just make a lower link," and then blurted out "How can one-eyed be on the gold list." As soon as this link came out, Liu Fenghuan could not know qianlong's meaning, and the Tangtang Emperor actually took people by appearance, and Liu Fengxuan simply went out, and replied without humility, "Half a moon is still in good shape."
Originally, Qianlong just wanted Liu Fenghuan to retreat from the difficulty, so that he would not damage his reputation. But I didn't expect that this boy was not only right, but also his tone was not small. After saying "good", Qianlong, who saw the hunter's heart, made another series of "East Qiming, West Chang Gung, Nanji Beidou, who is the star picking Han?" ”。
And Liu Fenghuan also entered the state, after a little thought, said "Spring peony, summer peony medicine, autumn chrysanthemum winter plum, Chenben Tanhualang."
When Qianlong listened, he took the four directions of southeast, southwest, and northwest plus the astrological signs as the theme, but Liu Fenghuan could use the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter to add flowers and grasses. The most wonderful thing is the Tanhua Lang of the end of the joint, not only to the upper link of the yuan, but also to point out the mind of the yuan, a pun is wonderful. At that moment, Long Yan was very happy, and he also looked at Liu Fenghuan a lot, and said a word of "Transforming you", so Liu Fenghuan finally became a Tanhualang.

In 1796, in order to maintain the record of his grandfather, the Kangxi Emperor, as the longest-reigning emperor, and to show his filial piety, the eighty-six-year-old Qianlong Emperor chose to hide behind the scenes, and Zen was located in his son Jiaqing Emperor.
When he first ascended to the throne, the Jiaqing Emperor was also overjoyed. In order to congratulate Qianlong on his birthday, Liu Fenghuan was specially ordered to use the era names of the five dynasties of Shunzhi, Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong, and Jiaqing to write a couplet and present it to emperor Taishang. After Liu Fenghuan received the order, he also fell into contemplation, after all, the couplet pays attention to the work of the battle, and it is a little difficult to integrate the Five Dynasties era number into it.
After careful consideration, Liu Fenghuan wrote with a stroke of his pen: Shuntian Kangmin, Yongran Qianjian Jia Ancient; Governing the Country Xiwu is Long Enqing Wannian. After he finished writing, the Jiaqing Emperor looked at it, and the five dynasties were indeed divided on his face, and he couldn't help but applaud his shooting. After this incident, Liu Fenghuan's fame also spread more and more.
Notes on the History of the Five Dynasties

Although Liu Fengchen is quick in thinking in the couplet, what really allows him to leave his name in history is his contribution to historiography.
Liu Fengcheng inherited Peng Yuanrui, and Peng Yuanrui happened to be in charge of compiling the History of the Five Dynasties, but this learned Confucian only completed the compilation of fourteen volumes, and regrettably passed away. After Peng Yuanrui's death, Liu Fenghuan took up this mission, spending more than twenty years and continuing to write fifty-eight volumes, and finally completed this history book.
During this period, he accompanied the ink and ink every day, and changed the manuscript of the "History of the Five Dynasties" infused with his painstaking efforts three times. According to historical records, the history books he wrote "were written with ink pens, altered and annotated with Danhuang pens, and written in correct letters." It was precisely this rigorous attitude, his honor in ancient books, that no one could match at that time and was praised by future generations.
In 1830, Liu Fengchen died of illness at the age of 70 while recuperating in Yangzhou.
