"Remember Us" Gao Yun
Gao Yun, vice president of the Chinese Painting Society, opened in Nanjing for his first large-scale solo exhibition , "Cloud Freedom - Gao Yun's Works Exhibition." Jointly organized by Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum and Deji Art Museum, this exhibition presents more than 60 pieces (sets) of fine works created by Gao Yun between 1979 and 2019, covering three categories: comic strips, stamps and Chinese paintings. In addition, it also includes Gao Yun's recently completed and unpublished new works.
The exhibition is divided into six themes, all of which are titled after song words: Ruyi Ling - Comic Strip Works, Hua Fei Hua - Gongbi Female Theme Works, Qiu Jiangyue - Gong Belt Writing Gaoshi Theme Works, Mirror People - Freehand Modern Theme Works, Yi Jiangnan - Landscape Works, and Jinshang Flowers - Stamp Works.
Comic strips are both the memory of an era and the spiritual sustenance of a generation. Gao Yun's "Luolun Rush" not only appeared in the "Comic Strip Newspaper", but also won the gold medal of the Sixth National Fine Arts Exhibition, leading the trend of line drawing comic strips.
In 1985, Shao Bolin, chief designer of the Stamp Issuance Bureau, invited Gao Yun to become the first batch of testers of stamp design reform, and Gao Yun's first set of stamps,"Commemorating the 400th Anniversary of Xu Xiake's Birth", was issued.
In the "Flowers not Flowers" section that shows women's themes, the audience can not only see a series of classics such as "Remember Us" and "Soul Horse Crest", but also enjoy the new products created by Gao Yun in recent years such as "Dialogue angle" and "Dream" series.
Gao Yun's Gao Shi, or shu shu zhi xue, or send love to the landscape. Among them, the "Yongle Cultivation Classic", which was selected as the "Chinese Civilization Historical Theme Art Creation Project" and collected by the National Museum of China, is the most typical.
The exhibition will be on view until October 31.
