This is a handwritten letter of thanks from Wang Xiaoye (pseudonym), a stranded tourist in Ejina Banner, Inner Mongolia, on October 24, and her husband, both over 70 years old, thanking Li Long, manager of Donghui Boyue Hotel in Huyang Town.
A dozen days ago, a total of 541 people, including Wang Xiaoye, took the Anhui "Happiness" northwest tour special train, starting from Wuhu, Anhui Province, all the way north, most of them elderly. After arriving in Zhangye on October 17, 2021, they took a bus to Ejin Naqi and planned to leave on October 18. On the same day, Ejin Naqi launched epidemic control measures, and tourists have been stranded so far. At present, the needs of tour group members are mainly catering, accommodation and medicine, especially the tour group members are generally older, and there is a shortage of various medicines they carry.
Located in the westernmost part of Inner Mongolia, Ejin Naqi covers an area of 114,600 square kilometers, and has one of the only three remaining poplar forests in the world; in October, 26,253 hectares of thousand-year-old trees, strange trees and poplars bloomed, attracting domestic and foreign tourists.
On October 18, five locally confirmed cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Ejin Naqi, Alxa League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and as of 11:00 on October 24, the number of confirmed cases increased to 31. After receiving the report, Ye Yuxia, the flag chief, immediately arranged for the staff of the Flag Development and Reform Commission, who contacted the railway department and sent the staff to immediately move the train back and forth twice to retrieve the special medicine from the special train, and sent it to her father's hotel that night, helping her father quickly alleviate his condition and tide over the difficulties.

Li Long said that when the epidemic broke out, the whole town was unprepared, and there was an extreme shortage of materials. The Donghui Boya Hotel, where he is located, is the only place in the town that can be heated, and other hotels can only rely on air conditioning for heating; and the daily needs of daily materials are transferred from Bayannaoer or Yinchuan, which is nearly a thousand kilometers away, and most of the medical equipment relies on government air transportation.
On October 20, Ejin Banner announced the telephone number of the detention tourist consultation service and issued a request for assistance to the whole country.
The Ejina Banner government responded on the 23rd that on the basis of providing "mobile supermarkets" and "mobile pharmacies" for stranded tourists, it opened the whole process of zero-contact service of "online drug purchase payment and offline drug delivery". Wang Hongwei, deputy director of the Development and Reform Commission of the Alxa League, said that the local government has arranged for the Ejin Banner Mongolian Medical Hospital to open to the public as a comprehensive outpatient clinic, providing door-to-door consultation services for residents and stranded tourists while normally ensuring outpatient services for residents and stranded tourists.

After returning to the room, the old man contacted Li Long and must take out a large bucket of mineral water in his room, saying that he wanted to drink it for those who needed it more. The old man said that he was old, and he could drink tap water.
The kindness and mutual help between stranded tourists are like a warm current, giving Li Long strength and bringing the light of hope to the town in the cold.
