The core idea that runs through the book "The Law of Life" is the law of "internal homeostasis": behind the complex phenomena of life, whether it is the human body or nature, there is a self-regulation mechanism that keeps its internal environment stable. And once this balance is broken, people will fall ill, the natural ecology will be destroyed, and whether it is to cure the disease or restore the ecology, it is to regain the balance. In fact, our ancestors have long recognized the importance of balance, Chinese medicine is to emphasize the use of conditioning to achieve homeostasis in the human body, this fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Chinese medicine can play a significant role is closely related to the theory of conditioning treatment of Chinese medicine, as for the relationship between man and nature, the ancients have long said to "Tao Fa nature" and "heaven and man are one". Modern medicine is to find drugs that effectively deal with a certain function or function imbalance in the human body, including to eventually conquer cancer, that is, to find drugs that target therapy. Respect for nature, conform to nature, protection of nature, man and nature in harmony, this is undoubtedly to provide a fundamental guide for the survival and development of our human beings, if we follow this law, human beings will continue to develop, otherwise they will be punished by nature, and even lead to the destruction of human beings themselves. In fact, it is not only the relationship between human bodies and people and nature that should be stable, but also harmony between people and countries, the olive-shaped social structure and society are stable, the peaceful coexistence between countries and the world is stable, and the idea of common prosperity and a community with a shared future for mankind is also the only way for the sustained and stable development of human society.
Of all biological species, humans are in a transcendent position, the highest level of predators and consumers, and only humans themselves can restrain us. First of all, we need to protect a number of natural reserves, millions of lions, elephants, rhinos, wild buffalo, cheetahs, zebras, antelopes, hippos and other wild animals in the vast savannah of the Serengeti, as well as the Great Migration of East African animals that continues to take place every year in the Serengeti and adjacent Masai Mara steppes, the last giant wildlife gathering paradise on the planet has been preserved because of very little human intervention, and the inherent homeostasis mechanism of nature is much more advanced than that of humans. What we have to do is to respect nature, conform to nature, protect nature, such as we want to protect a number of natural ecosystems to maintain ecological balance and biodiversity, we want to protect wetlands in order to provide a living environment and food for migratory birds; secondly, we must constrain our production and living behavior, establish a resource-saving, environment-friendly society, we have only one earth, that is to say, every year human "ecological footprint" consumes the stock of history, but this consumption is limited, Moreover, we must also consider the survival and development of future generations, and cherishing and conserving all kinds of resources should become the common responsibility of all mankind; Global ecosystems are already in a sub-healthy state, from the devastation of fish and wildlife, to the serious decline in water quality, smog and agricultural safety and other such problems, constantly sounding the alarm bell for us, the task of restoration and treatment is arduous and heavy, and we need to take the initiative. The proliferation of predators such as spiders, lions and sharks, which led to the "cyanobacteria" in Lake Erie in the United States, the "brown planthopper" in the rice fields of Asia, the "baboon" in Ghana, and the "bull-nosed ray" in the coastal area of Carolina in the United States, tell us that the effective measure to curb the crazy growth of predators is that humans should protect predators. We can restore the balance of ecosystems by increasing the protection of predators, but also by breeding and stocking predators directly. Restoring endangered species, restoring the ecological environment, and even revitalizing damaged ecosystems is not something that cannot be done, the key lies in our active action; fourth, we must grasp and use the laws of life, the "Serengeti Law" is a profound understanding of the general laws of different levels of life systems, it is not only applicable to the Serengeti grasslands, but also applicable to any ecosystem on the earth. We must seriously study and study these laws in depth, strictly follow and scientifically use, as the author mentioned in the book that the grassland of the Serengeti grassland in the natural state has been subjected to a degree of grazing grassland has derived a compensation mechanism, so that the grass can grow rapidly again, more abundant aquatic grass than the protected grassland, can produce more food, which is completely opposite to the phenomenon of grassland destruction and ecological degradation caused by overgrazing of artificial livestock. There is also the northwest region of China is the whole grassland grazing, and new Zealand grassland regardless of size has been divided into twelve small pieces, cattle and sheep only eat the most abundant piece of aquatic grass every month, a year, the grassland carrying livestock is 30% higher than the full stocking. Another example is the current eutrophication treatment of lakes in China, in addition to the treatment measures for reducing emissions from industrial and urban and rural living sources, more are the use of submerged water, flat water, and water plants for ecological restoration, and learning from the United States Wisconsin Gate Dota Lake by removing plankton-fed white salmon and increasing glass pike and pike white spotted pike prey fish there are few cases of successfully solving eutrophication. In addition, while restoring tropical rainforest in a large area, The Gorongosa Park in Mozambique has vigorously developed a reliable coffee planting industry, which not only fulfills the mission of environmental protection, but also promotes economic development and humanistic construction. From this point of view, we still have a lot of work to do in the in-depth study and scientific use of the Serengeti Law.
In the book, the author talks about the 18 valuable experiences of American doctor Bill Fauci in summarizing his participation in the smallpox eradication campaign, which he believes can be extended to other public health causes, the first of which is global cooperation. Human beings now live in a global village and a community of common destiny, whether it is responding to public medical and health events such as the new crown pneumonia epidemic, or restoring the natural ecology of the earth and achieving sustainable human development, we need to strengthen unity and cooperation. Finally, to borrow the author's epilogue, "Follow the law of life, build a better home, start from me, start now."
