Recently, between patrolling and resting on duty in the plateau, officers and men of a certain unit opened the portable oxygen cylinder they carried with them and began to inhale oxygen. Since last year, the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission has successively distributed single-soldier portable oxygen cylinders, portable oxygen generators, solid-state oxygen generators, and other single-soldier oxygen supply equipment to officers and men on the plateau, and the oxygen supply guarantee for the plateau has gradually realized the three changes of "from peacetime to wartime, from camps to the field, and from fixed to mobile," so as to better serve and support the improvement of the combat effectiveness of the troops.
The construction of oxygen production and supply is related to the oxygen used by officers and men on the plateau for peacetime health care and wartime medical treatment, and the quality of construction is directly related to the generation of combat strength. In order to solve the problem of oxygen absorption by officers and soldiers, since 2013, the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission has actively organized the construction of oxygen supply for troops stationed at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters, which has played a positive role in enhancing the cohesion and support of the combat effectiveness of the troops.
In recent years, while doing a good job in the construction of fixed oxygen inhalation facilities in the camps, the Logistics Support Department of the Central Military Commission and the organs at both levels of the army have taken the needs of officers and men as the traction, focused on the capacity building of oxygen supply in the highland field, and combined with the specific practice of oxygen support for the mission of patrolling the plateau, successively equipped the troops with new oxygen-producing cabins, portable oxygen cylinders for individual soldiers, portable oxygen generators, and solid-state oxygen generators, and built up "based on the base oxygen stations, oxygen stations along the national highway as the backbone, mobile oxygen-producing cabins as nodes, and single-soldier oxygen supply equipment as the terminal." In the next step, the organs of the Central Military Commission will focus on the construction of the plateau disease prevention and control system, take the basic scientific research of the plateau disease as the traction, take the oxygen supply guarantee and the training of low-oxygen pre-study clothes as the starting point, and build a solid health barrier for the officers and men of the plateau from the three levels of prevention, health care, and treatment, and provide a strong guarantee for the plateau troops to carry out various tasks.
