Beast Cop is a 1998 action film co-directed by Chen Jiashang and Lin Chaoxian, with Yuan De as the action director. It stars Wang Minde, Huang Qiusheng, Zhang Yaoyang and Chow HaiMei, while Tam Yiu-man, Lee Can Sen and Che Yuanyuan stars. The film is the opening film of the 22nd Hong Kong International Film Festival, and won five awards including best film at the 18th Hong Kong Film Awards.
In the complicated Red Fan District, Rotten Ghost Dong is a veteran and hot-tempered policeman, but he lacks discipline and has close ties with the gang members in the area, especially with the casino owner Gao Laohui. Once Hui killed someone, Dong had to let Hui abscond despite witnessing the incident.
Mike Zhang, an upright and jealous police officer, is transferred to Dong's group, becomes Dong's boss, and temporarily lives in the house that Dong rents, in addition to Dong and Mike Zhang, there is another promiscuous young policeman living in the house.
