After several battles, Zhang Taofang's name was known to everyone. But this is not the way to go every day. The U.S. military hid in the tunnels in fear all day, and every day it was in a very passive state. The U.S. military had no other choice but to ask for help from the headquarters and invited a sniper master to help.
In 1953, Zhang Taofang walked to the sniper site as usual, and a bullet came to his face and crossed his scalp. Zhang Taofang quickly entered a state of alert, the enemy was dark and I was clear, and the other party was obviously targeting him, which led to Zhang Taofang's situation being very difficult. He tried to use his helmet to expose the enemy's identity, but the opponent was very cunning and did not get fooled. Not only that, the opponent also hit the bullet at Zhang Taofang's feet, and Zhang Taofang hid sideways into the cover on the left side of the sniper site, and then quietly moved to the right.
Zhang Taofang had already judged the position of the opponent in the process of the confrontation just now, and when the opportunity arrived, he suddenly jumped up from the right, raised his gun, aimed, and shot, and gave the opponent a beautiful blow with a series of perfect actions. Two bullets grazed each other, one directly into the opponent's head, one rubbed Zhang Taofang's scalp, and a duel between kings ended with Zhang Taofang's victory.
In 1954, Zhang Taofang participated in a pilot selection, successfully entered the Air Force, and continued to stay in the Air Force as chief of staff after retiring. Later, I heard from the mouth of Zhang Taofang's son that the pair of leather shoes that Pi Dingjun gave to Zhang Taofang in that year were not willing to wear, but left them as a souvenir. The shoe contained 211 shell casings, representing the 211 American troops he killed.
