The new sea launch ship of Oriental Spaceport is based on the successful experience of the two sea launches of the Long March 11 solid carrier rocket, based on the future sea launch needs of China and the overall planning of the Oriental Spaceport, fully investigates the launch and recovery needs of Solid and Liquid Rockets in China, and develops and designs China's first specialized maritime satellite launch engineering ship. With a length of 162.5 meters and a width of 40 meters, the ship can meet the needs of launching and recovering medium-sized solid launch vehicles and small and medium-sized liquid carrier rockets currently in service and under research by configuring specialized functional system modules and integrated launch support equipment, and is scheduled to be completed and officially put into use in 2022.
In his speech, Liu Haibin said that the new sea launch ship is an important part of the core capacity building of the Oriental Spaceport and another milestone in enhancing the new capabilities of the Oriental Spaceport. Haiyang City will take the initiative to participate and provide services with full enthusiasm and pragmatic style, and effectively provide fast, efficient, solid and powerful service guarantee for the construction of new types of sea launch ships.
