Kim Il Sung's close comrade-in-arms committed suicide by poisoning himself for secrecy, and the bereaved family members of his comrades-in-arms visited the DPRK to treat each other as state guests

In 1959, the DPRK sent a war track expedition headed by Park Yong-cun to prepare to visit the northeast region of China to search for the past. Before leaving, Kim Il Sung specifically found Park Yong-cun, the leader of the regiment, and repeatedly told him to find the family of a deceased photo studio owner and help him convey his greetings. It can be seen that the owner of this photo studio has left a very deep impression on Kim Il Sung, and the owner of this photo studio is called Zhang Weihua.

Zhang Weihua (first from left)

Zhang Weihua is a native of Fusong County, Jilin Province, with good family conditions, the family relies on his father to live in business, and has a small reputation in the local area. In 1920, the county seat of Fusong ushered in a person who would shine in the future, he was only 7 years old Kim Il Sung, Kim Il Sung followed his father Kim Hyung Ji to flee to the northeast, Kim Hyung Ji was introduced to Zhang Weihua's father Zhang Wancheng, the two children also met, the two were similar in age, to the elementary school, the two were at the same table, the relationship slowly became close, Jang Wei-hwa and Kim Il-sung visited each other, Kim Il-sung's mother made Korean food for Jang Wei-hwa, and Jang Wei-hwa's family made dumplings for Kim Il-sung.

Kim Il Sung recalled: "Ever since I was in elementary school in Fusong, Jang Wei-hwa has been intimate with me regardless of whether he is rich or poor, Chinese the differences between him and the North Koreans."

Helped Kim Il Sung escape many times

Kim Il Sung, like other fleeing North Korean fighters, has always hoped to save his motherland, carrying the flames of revolution, which has deeply affected Jang Wei-hwa. In 1928, Kim Il Sung was arrested for participating in anti-Japanese propaganda, and it was Jang Wancheng who helped him get out of trouble, and it was Jang Wei-hwa who persuaded Jang Wancheng. At the age of 17, Jang Wei-hwa joined the Communist Youth League with the help of Kim Il-sung. In the same year, because of work reasons, Kim Il Sung wanted to leave Jilin, but at this time Jilin was full of sentries and military police, and Jang Wei-hwa used his identity on the train to help Kim Il Sung, who was hiding confidential documents, evade the secret agents, allowing Kim Il Sung to escape.

In the name of doing business in his own family, Zhang Weihua has been secretly engaged in anti-Japanese activities, helping Kim Il Sung to buy the weapons needed for the revolution, and successively used his family's funds with his father Zhang Wancheng to buy 12 pistols and more than 40 guns to help Kim Il Sung be able to establish an anti-Japanese guerrilla force.

In 1932, the "Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Group" was established in Antu County, with Kim Il Sung as its leader, the predecessor of the Korean People's Army. This year, Zhang Weihua was introduced by Kim Il Sung and joined our party. In this regard, the two people are in different places, and they are constantly working for the fate of the two countries.

Because Zhang Weihua already had a good business foundation at home, with the consent of the organization, Zhang Weihua used his business convenience to carry out underground anti-Japanese activities and opened a "brother photo studio" and a bookstore. The Japanese blockade against the Japanese guerrillas was very strict, and in order to prevent them from having the opportunity to carry out propaganda, the sale of paper was strictly restricted. Zhang Weihua set up a bookstore to carry out anti-Japanese propaganda work, and the bookstore could have the opportunity to get a lot of paper, pen and ink and other supplies to help publicize the anti-Japanese resistance.

When the guerrillas were short of supplies, Kim Il Sung sent people to find Jang Wei-hwa, who helped him raise daily necessities, salt, oil, cotton, grain, guns and other items to help Kim Il-sung survive the cold winter in the northeast. On the one hand, Zhang Weihua led the bookstore to distribute some progressive publications and provide daily necessities for the guerrillas. On the one hand, it is responsible for finding information about the enemy and sending people to pass it on to the guerrillas.

Sacrifice your life to protect the heroic sacrifice

After the July 7 Incident, Jang remained in contact with Kim Il Sung, but by the fall of 1937, contact was abruptly broken. Kim Il Sung sent a traffic officer down the mountain to contact Zhang Weihua, and when he arrived at the photo studio, he found that the door of the photo studio was closed, and it was already the appearance of no one, Zhang Weihua also heard nothing, and Kim Il Sung was very nervous. A few days later, the traffic officer came to the news that Zhang Weihua had been arrested.

It turned out that when Zhang Weihua met with a Korean, Zheng Xuehai, because Zheng Xuehai and Kim Il Sung were also classmates, and Zheng Xuehai was also the president of the Fusong County branch of the Free Youth League, Zhang Weihua accidentally revealed that he knew where Kim Il Sung was, but he did not expect that Zheng Xuehai had defected, and when he became a pawn of the Propaganda Work Class of the Linjiang Gendarmerie, the Japanese Gendarmerie arrested Zhang Weihua. Zhang Weihua was in prison, tortured and bruised, and the enemy tortured him in an attempt to get the location of Kim Il Sung's guerrillas from him, but Zhang Weihua did not let up and did not reveal the slightest information.

Zhang Weihua was physically weak, after torture has been unable to withstand the next round of severe beatings, the Japanese army has no way, and Zhang Wancheng in order to save his son, expressed willing to pay a lot of money to redeem his son out of "medical parole", the Japanese army at this time has a poisonous plan, they pretend to release Zhang Weihua, secretly send people to follow and stalk, if there are people from Kim Il Sung to contact, they will capture him and catch it all.

By late October, Kim Il Sung had been restless, when a bad news came that Jang Wei-hwa had committed suicide by wearing a liter of mercury in the brothers' photo studio, and Kim Il Sung heard the news and hid his face and cried bitterly.

It turned out that after Zhang Weihua returned home, he also saw through the sinister poisonous plan of the Japanese army, and he knew that no matter what his physical condition was, as long as Kim Il Sung contacted him, he would expose the location of the guerrillas. In order not to expose the troops, Zhang Weihua chose to sacrifice himself. He drank liters of mercury in the photo studio, which was the chemical used to thicken the photo base plate at that time, and the toxicity was very huge. When the guy came in, he saw that his face was not right, and immediately called his family, but it was too late, and the Japanese agents and doctors also arrived quickly, but after the doctor's examination, the Japanese agents and doctors left, and there was no medicine to save.

This year, Zhang Weihua was only 25 years old, and a young life dedicated himself to the motherland. A few days later, Jang Wei-hwa's family secretly sent a letter that Jang Wei-hwa wrote to Kim Il-sung on his deathbed, passing it on to Kim Il-sung, which contained only one line, hoping that Kim Il-sung would relocate the guerrillas. This is Zhang Weihua's last masterpiece.

In 1959, Park Yongcun led a delegation of anti-Japanese armed struggle to the northeast, and before coming, he had already asked our personnel to search for Zhang Weihua's relatives, and Zhang Weihua's wife lived in Fusong County with two children. After Park Yong-cun saw Jang Wei-hwa's wife, he conveyed Kim Il-sung's greetings, and his wife, who has always been strong, still cried bitterly in the face of this time. Jang Wei-hwa's wife then took out a photograph of Jang Wei-hwa and Kim Il-sung's younger brother, Kim Chol-joo, who had been treasured for many years and gave it to Kim Il-sung through Park Yong-cun, who looked at it and placed it in the National Liberation War Museum in Pyongyang and was admired by the world.

A year later, the North Korean Foreign Ministry officially issued an invitation, and Jang Wei-hwa's relatives went to Pyongyang to meet Kim Il-sung, and in North Korea they were welcomed by state guests, kim Il-sung drank a lot of wine at the banquet, and told Jang Wei-hwa's children about his many past events with Jang Wei-hwa. Half a month later, When Jang Wei-hwa's children were about to return home, Kim Il-sung waited in Kim Ui-joo on the North Korean border to see him off.
