After the Jin Dynasty destroyed the Liao Dynasty, it immediately sent a large army south, and in only two years, it destroyed the Northern Song Dynasty and created the "Shame of Jingkang" that made the Han people in the Central Plains look down. In fact, at that time, a famous general once proposed two strategies to Song Qinzong, and if the emperor could adopt one of them, it was likely to avoid the humiliating end of the country being captured. This figure who almost saved the empire was exactly the kind (sound of the insect) master Dao, known as the "last military god of the Northern Song Dynasty".

Portrait of the Seed Master
Seed Master Dao, formerly known as Seed Jianzhong, was renamed Seed Master Pole because it avoided the era name of Emperor Huizong of Song's "Jianzhong Jingguo", and was later given the name "Master Road" by Emperor Huizong. Seed Master Dao was a great-grandson of the Great Confucian Seed Fang, and his grandfather, Seed Shiheng, and father, Were all famous generals who made Western Xia feel frightened, and they first served as civilians, but because of their strategy, they were promoted by Emperor Huizong of Song and changed to wuzhi town to guard Ningxia and Gansu. Seed Division Road defended the western frontier for more than ten years, repeatedly defeated the invasion of Western Xia, and captured the military fortress of Zangdi City, which shocked the world and was often known as the first general of the Western Army.
Because of his outstanding military achievements, He was repeatedly promoted, and was heavily relied upon by the imperial court in the huizong dynasty to the deputy commander of the ma jun of the guards and the envoy of the Ying Dao army. As an aside, the "Old Zhong Jing Slightly Xianggong" mentioned by Lu Zhishen, Xue Yong, Tang Long and others in the "Water Margin" is exactly the kind of teacher, and "Jingluo Xianggong" is the honorific title when he served as the appeasement envoy of the Jingyuan Jingluo. The reason why he called the breeder Dao "Old Bell" was because his younger brother The Seed Master was also a famous general who guarded the northwest frontier of the town, and when he tried to distinguish the Seed Brothers, he called the Seed Master Dao "Old Bell" and the Seed Master "Small Seed".
Portrait of Emperor Huizong of Song
In the late reign of Emperor Huizong of Song, he made a "maritime pact" with the Jin Dynasty and agreed to jointly attack the Liao Dynasty. Taking advantage of the Liao Dynasty's fatigue in dealing with the Jin army's attack, Emperor Huizong of Song sent the eunuch Tong Guan to lead the Northern Expedition in May and October of the fourth year of Xuanhe (1222), and accompanied him with a master. However, due to Tong Guan's blind command, 200,000 Song troops were twice beaten by the remnants of liao and lost their armor and armor, which can be described as a disgrace. Afterwards, Tong Guan and the traitorous minister Wang Yi shifted all the responsibility for the defeat on Zhongshi Dao and ordered him to serve as a general of the Right Guard.
The reality that the Song Dynasty suffered a crushing defeat in both Northern Expeditions made the Jin Dynasty, which was still an ally at the time, laugh at all, and in addition to ridicule and ridicule, it was inevitable that it would breed ambitions to invade the Central Plains. Sure enough, just 3 years after the Song-Liao War (1125), the Jin Dynasty, which had completely destroyed the Liao Dynasty, used the Song Dynasty's "illegal acceptance of surrenders and unauthorized border challenges" as an excuse to divide the troops into two ways to invade the south. After the news reached Kaifeng, Emperor Huizong of Song, because he did not want to be the emperor of the fallen state, passed the throne to the crown prince Zhao Huan, for the sake of Emperor Qinzong of Song, in October of the seventh year of Xuanhe (1125).
Jing Kang's change is to be planned
After Emperor Qinzong of Song came to power, he regarded the salvation of Tu Cun as the top priority, so he used the resistance faction ministers Li Gang and Zhi ShiDao to resist the Jin soldiers, and called on the world to raise troops to "Qin Wang". At that time, the 75-year-old breeder Dao was living in seclusion in the Leopard Forest Valley of Nanshan, and after receiving the order, he immediately went east to the old yao pingzhong and took the latter's foot and horsemen to the north together. During the march, Seed Division Dao ordered people to post notices everywhere, claiming that Seed Shaobao led millions of Western soldiers to come, and the Golden Soldiers were afraid to intercept them, so Seed Division Dao entered the capital safely.
Emperor Qinzong of Song had high hopes for Master Zhong, and on the day he summoned him, he appointed the veteran as a major inspector, a privy councillor of Tongzhi, and an envoy to the Two Rivers of Gyeonggi, and to command the Qinwang troops in various places. Prior to this, Emperor Qinzong of Song had agreed to cede land and pay compensation to the Jin Dynasty at the suggestion of the traitorous minister Li Bangyan, but Master Dao suggested that the emperor delay the payment of reparations and land, and when the Jin army was sluggish and ready to return to the north, he could intercept their return route around the Yellow River and annihilate them in one fell swoop. However, Song Qinzong, eager to end the war at an early date, vetoed this proposal.
Emperor Yao Pingzhong fled
Since the various Qin Wang troops did not arrive, the Seed Division Dao forbade the soldiers to go to war without authorization out of the need for unified action. However, Yao Pingzhong, who was eager to make a contribution, ignored his superiors' orders and even led a death squad to rob the camp at night, and was defeated by the Jin soldiers. After Yao Pingzhong's defeat and escape, the morale of The Qin Army plummeted, and Song Qinzong, at the instigation of Li Bangyan, dismissed Li Gang, Seed Shidao, and others. Fortunately, a large number of Tai students and the people of the capital petitioned in front of the imperial palace, and Song Qinzong reinstated Li Gang and Seed Master Dao.
After the Jin commanders Yan Zongwang and Yan Zonghan heard the news of Li Gang's and ZhishiDao's reinstatement, they did not dare to continue the siege of Kaifeng, and after receiving the song Dynasty's formal promise of land cession and indemnity, they retreated north with Zhao Shu, the king of Su, who was a hostage. At this time, Seed Master Dao again discussed and persuaded Song Qinzong to attack when he crossed the Yellow River with Jin soldiers, but was again refused. When the seed master saw that the emperor was stubborn like this, he said sadly, "He will be a disaster for the country one day." ”

After the Jin army withdrew from Kaifeng, it stormed Taiyuan, a military stronghold of the Song Dynasty in Shanxi, and Li Gang went to the rescue, but was defeated. In desperation, Song Qinzong had no choice but to send a seed master Dao as the main general and lead an army to rescue Taiyuan. While traveling to Heyang, Zhaoshidao encountered the Jin Dynasty emissary Wang Wei , and judged by observing the color of the words that the Jin soldiers would definitely march south, so he immediately asked the emperor to leave the capital city without danger and take refuge in Chang'an, which was easy to defend and difficult to attack. However, Li Bangyan and others slandered Master Dao as fearing the enemy and fearing war, and the confused Song Qinzong listened to the rumors and not only rejected the old general's suggestion, but also recalled him back to the capital.
In the absence of strong rescue, Taiyuan City eventually fell, and the Jin soldiers led by Guanyan Zongwang and Wanyan Zonghan once again went south, and the soldiers pointed directly at Kaifeng. In the face of the fierce Jin soldiers, the frightened Song Qinzong decided to negotiate peace with the Jin Dynasty again, and in order to show "sincerity", he also ordered the dissolution of the various Qin Wang armies and demoted Li Gang out of the capital. When he learned of this news on his way back to Beijing, he fell seriously ill due to grief and indignation, and died before he could see Emperor Qinzong of Song after entering Kaifeng, at the age of 76, in October of the first year of Jing Kang (1126).
Portrait of Emperor Qinzong of Song
Just a month after the death of Seed Master Dao, Jin Bing easily broke through the Xuanhua Gate, and Kaifeng immediately fell. Immediately after, the most famous "Shame of Jingkang" occurred in history, including Song Huizong and Song Qinzong, more than 3,000 people, including imperial men and women, harem concubines, and princes and ministers, were arrested, and then sent to the capital of the Jin Dynasty, Shangjing huining Province, and the Northern Song Dynasty was destroyed. According to the "Chronicle of the Eastern Capital", when The father and son of Emperor Huizong of Song were escorted to the Jinying Camp, the remorseful Song Qinzong beat his chest and cried: "There is no need to plant a teacher's words, so much so!" ”
