Today (September 7), the first China Digital Carbon Neutrality Summit Forum kicked off in Chengdu. With the theme of "Digital Empowerment, Green Development", the forum brought together various government departments, experts and scholars in various fields and other social forces to jointly explore how to effectively use digital means to help achieve the major goal of "carbon dioxide emissions peaking by 2030 and striving to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060".

At the parallel sub-forum of "Digital Life Leads the New Trend of Green and Low Carbon" on the afternoon of the 7th, Liu Wenhua, secretary of the Party Committee of E-Car Group, said that the data shows that about 16% of China's carbon emissions in 2020 will originate from transportation travel, and its average annual growth rate in the past 9 years has reached more than 5%, and it is expected to increase by 50% by 2025. If the travel industry fails to take the lead in achieving "carbon neutrality", the realization of China's "3060" strategic development goals will face great challenges.

Liu Wenhua believes that digital technology has brought about changes in the form of travel. Cloud computing, Internet of Things, 5G, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, blockchain and other digital technologies are rapidly entering the automotive industry, and the new wave of automotive modernization has swept the world. Digital technology has gradually deepened the automotive, travel and transportation industries, forming a popular travel form with digital technologies such as new energy, digital network connection, and vehicle-road collaboration as the carrier. This new form of travel is not only a technical model, but also a change in thinking mode.

"In the future transportation system, the car itself is only an integral part of the system, and it is no longer the protagonist of travel. The future mobility system will cover automotive, transportation, energy, communications, big data, artificial intelligence and other fields. In this ecosystem, the units are interdependent and influential, and the automotive industry must break the industrial boundary as soon as possible, strengthen collaboration with other industries, and build a smart transportation system that integrates vehicles and roads through the construction of vehicle intelligence, road intelligence and AI cloud platform. Liu Wenhua said.
