On October 26, the "2021 Artificial Intelligence Talent Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") released by the Lagou Recruitment Data Research Institute showed that the talent demand index of the artificial intelligence industry in 2021 increased by 103% over last year, and the average monthly salary was 20,000 yuan, an increase of 12.4% over last year.

Specifically, the annual talent demand of the artificial intelligence industry peaked in March and August. The report points out that as a fundamental model to promote the evolution of artificial intelligence technology from "single cell" to "multi-cell" to "advanced intelligent organisms", algorithm applications are increasingly attracting attention from enterprises.

It is worth noting that from the perspective of delivery volume, the top 3 popular delivery positions in 2021 are product managers, Java engineers and front-end engineers, and algorithm engineers rank eighth, which is in contrast with the heat of demand. According to Lagou recruitment estimates, the algorithm talent gap reached 1.7 million.

According to the interface workplace, as an important technical module of the digital economy, the technical value of artificial intelligence continues to be highlighted, and the vigorous development of the industry has also brought about the growth of supply and demand for related talents. In addition, the pulse talent big data also shows that since 2021, the supply and demand of talents in the artificial intelligence industry has shown a continuous growth trend month-on-month, and the number of related positions has increased by 50% compared with the beginning of the year. SenseTime, iFLYTEK and Digital Beauty have become the three most attractive AI companies in 2021. However, it should be pointed out that in the strong wave of development of China's artificial intelligence industry, the number of enterprises researching and applying artificial intelligence technology is increasing, and the demand for talents has surged in a short period of time, but there are still problems such as insufficient talent reserves and imperfect training mechanisms in the field of artificial intelligence. In October this year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly promulgated seven national occupational and technical skills standards, including artificial intelligence, and the promulgation of skill standards also provides a basic basis for the evaluation of personnel in related fields.

In terms of salary, the report shows that high-paying positions are still concentrated in technical positions, and architects have been at the top of the high-pay list with a monthly salary of 36,000 yuan for two consecutive years. In the talent market, the law of "supply and demand determines price" still applies. In 2021, the salary of school recruitment in the artificial intelligence industry has increased significantly, and the average salary of algorithm engineers with a large talent gap is as high as 21700 yuan, which is 80% of the average salary of the position social recruitment, an increase of 7700 yuan over last year's school recruitment, an increase of up to 56%.

The report pointed out that the rapid development of the industry, the shortage of talents, enterprises pay more attention to the new talents corresponding to the campus education major, but also invested in greater salary costs.

In addition, through the analysis of the talent needs of the artificial intelligence industry of the statistical Lagou recruitment platform, 83% of the positions require candidates to have a bachelor's degree or above, while 35% of the positions are concentrated in 3-5 years of work experience practitioners, and 23% are concentrated in 1-3 years of experience practitioners.

In terms of urban distribution, first-tier cities have also taken the lead in the artificial intelligence vertical industry with leading Internet technology. In 2021, the top five cities with the greatest demand for artificial intelligence talents are Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou.

Among them, Zhijiang Lab, co-founded by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang University and Alibaba Group, is the enterprise with the highest number of artificial intelligence-related job releases in 2021. Driven by the integration of local policies in Hangzhou with leading enterprises in the industry, compared with last year, the demand for talents in Hangzhou's artificial intelligence industry has risen from the fifth place to the fourth place.
