Shanghai is a pioneer in the green development of urban construction, the first green building in the country was born in Shanghai, and the first local green ecological urban area standard was also released by Shanghai. Pei Xiao, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Administration Committee, said that the "13th Five-Year Plan" Shanghai completed the energy-saving renovation target of 10 million square meters of existing public buildings one year ahead of schedule, and in the next step, Shanghai will accelerate the establishment of energy consumption and carbon emission quota design for new buildings through precise policies, and promote the construction of an ultra-low energy consumption building demonstration area in each of the five new cities in the "14th Five-Year Plan".

Liu Junjin, president of China Construction Research Institute Jianyan Technology Co., Ltd. and deputy secretary of the party committee, believes that to achieve the "double carbon" goal, it is not only necessary to focus on energy transformation, but also to promote the transformation of production and lifestyle in the whole society. Through the six levels of smart low-carbon transportation, smart new energy facilities, smart resource recycling, smart ecological corridors, smart low-carbon housing and smart renewable energy, smart cities can effectively empower carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, making cities more low-carbon and green.

Li Xiangmin, vice president of Shanghai Jianke Group Co., Ltd., said that China's urbanization rate has exceeded 60%, urban construction and development has changed from large-scale incremental construction to stock quality improvement and incremental structural adjustment, and existing building transformation is one of the important technical ways of urban renewal. Hu Hao, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Ship Marine and Architectural Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, also said that the construction industry has achieved the "double carbon" goal through green development, which is of great significance to the realization and sustainable development of China's "double carbon" strategy. Promoting the large-scale development of high-quality green buildings through financial innovation is an important strategy for the current construction industry.
