Taiwan's youth integrate into the "Tale of Two Cities" in Chengdu and Chongqing: Make good use of policies and seize opportunities

Chengdu, October 22 (China News Service) (Reporter Wang Peng) "Under the background of the construction of the twin-city economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, there are more entrepreneurial opportunities and market opportunities here. On the 22nd, talking about why he settled in Chengdu to start a business, Taiwanese youth Li Yongqiang said that with policy support, the Chengdu-Chongqing region is bound to usher in rapid development, which is also an opportunity for Taiwanese youth.

Just two days ago, the mainland officially released the "Outline of the Planning for the Construction of the Twin Cities Economic Circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing Region", proposing to build the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle into an important economic center with national influence, a scientific and technological innovation center, a new highland for reform and opening up, and a livable place for high-quality life. At the 2021 Cross-Strait (Sichuan-Chongqing) Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Exchange Conference, which opened on the 22nd, how to seize the opportunity of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities has become the focus of attention of many Young People in Taiwan.

Graduated from Chung Cheng University in Taiwan with a master's degree, Li Yongqiang came to Chengdu in 2014 and started his business in the Chengdu (Xingdian) Cross-Strait New Economy Entrepreneurship Park last year, committed to providing business management solutions. He said that young people in Taiwan should integrate into the "Tale of Two Cities" in Chengdu and Chongqing, and the focus is on making good use of policies, and after he settled in the entrepreneurship park, he enjoyed the Chengdu talent policy and also received entrepreneurial fund support.

"Young people in Taiwan are starting a business on the mainland, and if they don't bring their own funds, it will be more difficult to find funds at the beginning." Li Yongqiang said that with the help of the entrepreneurship park, he successfully docked with a bank in Chongqing, and the business operation is now on the right track.

"The key is to seize the opportunity." Chen Yunru, who owns 7 milk tea stores in Chengdu and Chongqing, told reporters that she started her business in Chengdu three years ago and has now expanded her career to Chongqing. "I once wanted to give up in entrepreneurship, but with the support of government departments and business parks, I persevered." She said she hopes that her story can inspire more young people in Taiwan to come to the mainland to start a business, realize self-worth, and promote the integration of young people on both sides of the strait.

In recent years, Taiwan Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Parks throughout the mainland have developed rapidly and are becoming an important support for Young People from Taiwan to start businesses on the Mainland. According to Luo Zhiping, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Sichuan Province, there are currently four large-scale Taiwan youth employment and entrepreneurship parks around Chengdu alone. As of September this year, the four parks have accumulated 241 Taiwan youth entrepreneurship projects, with nearly 400 young entrepreneurs in Taiwan, with a total investment of more than 500 million yuan.

"I hope that the vast number of Taiwanese youth will pay more attention to the central and western regions, especially Chengdu and Chongqing." Zhang Shihong, director of the Economic Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said that in the future, the mainland will continue to take measures to mobilize resources from all aspects of society to provide all conveniences for young people in Taiwan to find employment and start businesses.

Zhang Shihong said: Under the new development pattern of the mainland, the driving force for cross-strait economic cooperation is still very sufficient. From January to September this year, cross-strait trade has exceeded US$200 billion, and it may exceed the US$300 billion mark in the whole year. "At present, the situation of competition between enterprises on both sides of the strait is intensifying, but the pattern of complementarity and mutual benefit between the two sides of the strait economy has not changed, so the prospects for the development of Taiwan businessmen and Taiwan enterprises on the mainland are still very bright."
