Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Keith Pompey reported on some of the details of 76ers guard Ben Simmons' attempt to be traded.

Simmons' agent, Rich Paul, informed team general manager Elton Brand three days after the 76ers were eliminated by the Hawks that Simmons wanted to be traded. As a result, some on Simmons' team feel that the 76ers should have thought that Simmons would not return to the team in the new season. One source said the 76ers tried to trade Simmons twice, and the team did want to trade it away, but the 76ers were determined to dominate the trade themselves.

The sources believe the 76ers are asking for too much, and they are still waiting for the opportunity for Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal to appear on the trading market. One source said Ritchie Paul had tried to organize a three-way deal in which 76ers could get five players. But because the 76ers asked for too high, the deal proposal went awry.
