On October 30, Wu Liangyou, deputy director of the Disease Control Bureau of the National Health Commission, said at a press conference of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council that the epidemic situation in Heihe, Heilongjiang has developed rapidly since the report on October 27, and according to the current flow adjustment and virus sequencing results, the epidemic is not related to the recent local epidemic in Gansu and other provinces and regions in Inner Mongolia, and it is a new epidemic caused by imported viruses. At present, the new cases are mainly found through full screening and active medical treatment, indicating that community transmission has occurred in the local area and that there is a risk of spread and spillover. The joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council has sent a strong working group to Heihe to guide and support the local emergency handling work such as risk population investigation, nucleic acid testing, and flow tracing.
