01. Jack Daniel was named Most Valuable Spirits Brand of the Year
According to management consultancy Interbrand, Perfunce owns Jack Daniels as the world's most valuable spirits brand.
In Interbrand's 22nd annual report, Best Global Brands 2021, Jack Daniels ranked 81st out of 100 of the world's leading brands.
The report determines rankings based on a brand's "financial performance, role in purchasing decisions and competitive strength," among other factors. The report also analyzes how leading brands are navigating a "rapidly changing business environment."
The whisky brand is currently valued at $6.537 billion, up 4% year-on-year since 2020.
The Jack Daniels brand also made it into the top 100 in last year's report, taking the 82nd place.
Hennessy, the world's largest cognac brand, is ranked 95th on the Top 100 list. The LVMH brand, now valued at $5.299 billion, is down four places from 2020.
2. Johnny will be appointed as the first female chief bartender
After more than 40 years of working for Diageo, Dr. Johnny Walker, the current Chief Bartender, has decided to retire at the end of this year, and Dr Emma Walker will officially take over the new Johnny Grovet Chief Bartender position from 1 January 2022.
Johnnie Ghon's boss labeled Beveridge "one of the most respected people in the industry." In 2019, he was awarded the Order of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his contribution to the Scotch whisky industry.
Walker will be the first woman to serve as Johnnie Graga's chief bartender, and she will lead a group of 12 in her new role.
Walker joined Diageo 13 years ago and has since gained extensive experience in the production and blending of Scotch whiskies.
For the past six years, she has been working with Johnnie Harvest on innovative work, including the Johnny Plus Blue Ghost Distillery and Rare Series, as well as Jenny Harvest.
3. Whisky paired with NFT fetched a record $2.3 million
Last week, a 1991 McAllen whisky barrel and its exclusive NFT were auctioned for $2.3 million on the NFT trading platform Metcask, with an anonymous buyer, setting a new record for whisky barrel auctions.
NFT, short for non-fungible token , is a hot concept this year , involving the sale of exclusive and limited edition items , including digital art, music, trading cards , and other collectibles , and by holding an NFT, one can prove to be the sole owner of something. NFT's total sales in the third quarter of 2021 have soared to $10.7 billion, more than 8 times higher than in the second quarter.
The barrel, which just turned 30 years old on June 30 this year, has its exclusive NFT named "The Angel's Share", designed by artist Trevor Jones, and the NFT buyer will receive ownership of the barrel of whiskey, and the exclusive NTF is also the digital property of the barrel.
4. The largest bottle of Scotch whisky was launched with two barrels of wine
Recently, a bottle of whisky bottled 180cm tall by whisky investment company Fah Mai Holdings Group Inc and Rosewin Holdings set a world record, becoming the largest bottle of Scotch whisky in history, breaking the previous record set by Guinness, if there is no accident, it will enter the auction hall, and 25% of the auction proceeds will be given to British charities.
This bottle of whisky contains 311L and uses two barrels of McAllen 32 years of wine for filling, in addition to being used to fill this 311L bottle of whiskey, the other liquors will be bottled in regular 700ml size, launching 14 sets of series called "The Intrepid", each with 12 bottles, or a total of 168 bottles.
Each group of "The Intrepid" features a large bottle, and the remaining 11 700ml bottles feature 11 famous and great explorers, such as Levin Wood, who trekked through Africa, Asia and Central America; Jamie Ramsay, a long-distance runner who ran from Vancouver to Argentina in 600 days; and Felicity Aston, the world's first woman to cross the Antarctic continent alone in 2012.
5. Zhangyu brandy was awarded "Classic Cocktail Base Wine" in Russia
Recently, in the final of the 28th Russian Cocktail Bartender Championship held in Moscow, the participant Andreyev Yevgeni won the championship with a cup of "Red Face Drunk" based on Zhang Yu's five-star gold brandy, and Zhang Yu's five-star gold medal brandy was also rated as the "classic cocktail base wine" of this competition.
The "Red Face Drunk" cocktail, with a brightly colored "Chinese Red" and decorated with "flower hairpins" made of orange peel, mint leaves and cherries, is full of oriental flavor.
Zhangyu Company is China's first brandy and wine production enterprise, as early as 1916 "Declaration" published in the Zhangyu brandy advertisement, there has been a "plus three stars as proof" grade concept. Later, the grade of the ZhangYu Gold Award brandy series was divided into three stars, four stars and five stars from low to high.
