Yao Wenyuan (December 11, 1931 – December 23, 2005), male, from Zhuji, Zhejiang, one of the members of the "Gang of Four", the main criminal of the Jiang Qing counterrevolutionary group. He was a member of the Central Cultural Revolution Group and a member of the Politburo. In 1981, he was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment in accordance with the law, and was released in October 1996. He died of diabetes on 23 December 2005.
